heat gets absorbed in some colors more intense than others.
humans and animals use color as form of expression. a pink turban may represent some joyous occasion while green could mean harvest season while black would just mean winter is coming. so many possibilities.

my dear brother....even if your leader is bad the prophet pbuh said do not do dharnas as it affects the people and causes fitna. instead, have patience and educate your leaders. this is sahi hadith. i know in pakistan even ambulances are not safe from these molvis. they do everything the prophet pbuh told us not to do.
it may be human to demonstrate but allowed. just as its human the lear at a good looking woman but not allowed.

Cultural bhi ha and zarorat bhi ha ziada log zarorat ki waja sa pehntay. Culture for landlords and zarorat for common people. May June ki dhoop main pagri kam aati ha and garam hawa chalti ha to face cover krnay ka kam aati ha. Father ki death par eldest son ko pagri bandhatay hain.

so it's not really religious then if it is a cultural attire to keep the body temperature pleasant during heat and sandstorm.
