Iraq had weapons of Mass Destruction, they used them on the Kurds and Iran killing tens of thousands of people, including women and children.

While i am inclined to agree with the essence of that statement, why did Pakistan buy in to it whole-sale?
Right from the CENTO and SEATO ventures, Pakistan seemed to be more involved in protecting American interests than in securing her own future. Pakistan has/had an undeniable and unalienable to be its own "bulwark" rather than anybody else's.

For the mujaheddin project the U.S. mainly provided logistical support and funding to Pakistani organizations that already existed.
