Hi,
Most of you must be aware of 'Yellow Ribbon' programs. For those who aren't, please familiarize yourself with the concept before moving forward.

Unfortunately, there is no such program in Pakistan, where the benefits for a soldier disabled in service amount to PKR800 per month, which is about £5. Regardless of that, our men brave harsh conditions and extended periods of forwarded deployment to protect us and our nation's boundaries. Just to put things into perspective, a single tour of duty in active combat for NATO and US Armed Forces personnel is 6 months, where as a single tour of duty in active combat for a Pakistani soldier is 24 to 30 months. A number of these men suffer injuries during their tenure that leave them affected for life, loss of limbs, sight and auditory functions are some of the disabilities that affect our men.
The men looked out for us, now it's time to return the favour. Your contribution no matter how menial can help a diabled or shaheed soldier's child get an education, get supplies, get medical care. You can sponsor a shaheed or disabled serviceman and donate a small amount every month or you can donate once and get a T-shirt, Badge, Sticker and other merchandise as a token of our appreciation.
Right now, members of PDF are setting up the charity and we are looking to:
1. Decide committee.
2. Register charity-formulate constitution
3. Set Up aBank account.
4. Ask those who are prepared to give £1.00 or 2.00 per week or per month. set up standing orders
5. Have a competition to launch for logos on here etc
6. Set up offshoots in other countries. Use member from forum in other countries
7. Committee meet and decide where to donate etc
