Where are the Muslims? Burma Myanmar wiping out the Rohingya Muslims!!

Mrs.Lavina,
May I suggest an alternative? Instead of getting blind, why don't we take stand against both,at least verbally?
Regards

Why dont we stand against every innocent who gets killed, whether its a muslim in Palestine/india, a jew in germany, hindu in Pakistan?why should it be on the basis on religion?

Military intervention or proxies will only exacerbate the situation, the only way forward is the diplomatic pressure. Economic blockade is the key, since Burma is now opening up, any sort of barrier in its growing foreign trade and investment will make them nervous. Before anyone, ASEAN needs to play the leading role here.

throw out all the burmese tribes and let the rohingyas in...

This has more to do with xenophobia not Islamaphobia. A lot of things are being exaggerated.

Nope. No country on the world save USA can stop them.

Both India and China are giving their full, and I mean full backing to Myanmar because our companies are getting their contracts.

Both India and China give military aid to Myanmar. We are not going to allow billions of dollars of investment and aid and potential tens of billions of dollars income wash away by any country.
We both have grand plans for Myanmar - it will connect India and China to South East Asia all the way to Japan in massive economic corridor.

As I said, Pakistan along with all the Arab lands put together wont be able to scratch Myanmar. Only one country can - US.

Thats you presenting your wishes as facts. What is India doing for its sunken multi billion dollar investments in Afghanistan?

They should be helped on humanitarian grounds not on religious grounds.

The moment some of you make it a religious issue ,rest loose their sympathy to the victims, world is already dealing with too much terrorism and who wants more.

They are being targeted for being Muslims or for being Humans? - If its the later than you are kind of saying that Monks are not humans.

That's a silly thought. Unless the crisis is taken from a simmering to a boiling point where Monk govt of Burma is no longer in control of the situation, no credible case for UN intervention be made.

Where is the U.N in all of this? They're so quick to act in East Timor, or in Syria, but what about the situation in Burma?

I think this might be your answer,

Is Afghanistan related to this thread? No.
We barely invested in Afghanistan and we never gave any military support there. It shows the kind of commitment we had there.

I will tell you the big plans we have for Myanmar however - a manufacturing corridor involving India, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia to Japan. A major highway connecting India, China and Myanmar already approved for international funding.

That apart, India has been giving military aid to Myanmar - from surveillance aircrafts(in defiance of the international weapons sale ban to Myanmar) along with older tanks and APC's, military trucks, not to mention guns.

And so has China..and more than us.

Now if you think we are going to let Myanmar become Afghanistan over Rohingyas - well...you can try. If you can get USA to support your venture, it would get sail. Apart from that...All the Kings men and horses would be unable to scratch them because India and China are backing Myanmar.

Bangladesh and Indonesia have to intervene. Both Bangladesh and Indonesia are there, and should pressure the Military Junta Government in Myanmar to cease this butchery. This is already beyond politics, it is a humanitarian crisis for God's sakes. There are hundreds of thousands of children dying due to either violence , disease, hunger. :frown:

Wont work as Myanmar has been under economic and military sanction for decades and it did nothing. They source what they want from India and China. They are not very dependent on global markets.

A military confrontation may not be necessary if the Rohingya can be resettled at least in Arakan (which also has a large muslim Burmese presence). This can be resolved peacefully, in my opinion.

Afghanistan is related to the thread because your 'absolutist' POV. You stated that India won't tolerate when its investments are in jeopardy, therefore its fair to ask what exactly has India done for its investments which have sunk in Afghanistan?

It can be however someone needs to gear up and tell Burma that it would have to face consequences if it doesn't do whats needed to protect the slaughter of Muslim Rohingas. Who exactly is going to do that is a million dollar question.

As a Pakistani there are many things to regret, getting involved in Afghanistan to smash soviets is not one of them.

There are levels of risk that come with associated investments.
All we have in Afghanistan of worth as an investment is a mine. The rest was aid to Afghanistan.

On the other hand in Myanmar we have not only a major deep sea port, highways of hundreds of kilometers, we have transnational superhighway currently under construction connecting India, Myanmar, China and other eastern countries.
We have defied international arms ban , given military aid like surveillance aircrafts.

And even apart from these things Myanmar has been instrumental in removing terrorists using the border jungles for its base. The Indian military has operated inside Myanmar with their army in killing these militants. That is the level of trust we share.

We are deeply invested in Myanmar in many forms and their future affects us greatly. It is much the same with China.

You are an intelligent man. You can take a call. Think about why India and China both violated international arms sanctions on Myanmar and economic sanctions on Myanmar. There must be something we both want.
