Islam is most disciplined religion. Any new practice is detected at once. You don't need approval for every action but slightest of negation and prohibition directly or indirectly for not doing an act.

In Abrahamic religions there's no female prophet, so no concept of female Imam in prayer but only for females.

Whereas in Dharmic religions there are male, female and hermaphrodite deities.

So only in India, next time you may even find a transgender leading the prayer.

It provides better explanation. What to see is that can we bring Abrahamic and Dharmic religions closer this way.

Empowering women is one thing, playing with sensitive topics is another. I don't think her move will make any significance to good and real Muslims. Neither do the women support such things.
