When the vatican gang gets caught red handed

Sir, I never said your fist. Never implied either. As a fellow humanist I assumed you would be concerned with this. alas....

I didn't mean that personally either. It was meant metaphorically. Maybe it was an overextension of a differently worded expression. Consider the personal aspect apologised for.

Ask them to get lost?! That's secondary sir. Primary question is Why are they in first place? I am kind of disappointed that your sensibilities are not hurt by what you are seeing. Hindus in that video were being polite. That's how Hindus are brought up in India, to be polite.
These Vermin take advantage of that fact.

Because it is their religious duty, and I didn't see any insult offered.

Must tell Graham Staines and his toddlers that they were burnt alive very politely.

My First video and this video are here to show how Hindus are being insulted and liberals have a smile at our expense.

No liberal would have a smile at watching tolerance at work. That is by definition.

Done.

@lastofthepatriots

I did some reading on this last night. It's not just about this legend; there are several others as well. Would you hold still for my running some of my posts past you for readability before publishing it? I wrote a lot last night, and it was so turgid and indigestible, so devoid of grace and style that I dumped it with a shudder.

Well, Although I like your eloquent style, I'd be the wrong person to peer review your piece. I'm just interested in the contents, because this part of history is not taught in detail in Pakistan. Also I know you try to stay neutral when it comes to history, and I basically just want to learn.

<sigh!>

OK, I'll try another victim.

It wasn't peer review, exactly, not for an opinion piece, but just for readability. I'll get on to it over the weekend.

Hey take your time man. I don't mean to rush you. I appreciate the fact that you even took me up on my request. Post it in 6 months from now, but please do tag me whenever it is ready.

Definitely will tag you. I found that there were several such legends, including the Prithviraj one. Prithviraj was killed on the battlefield; his court poet then went to town on it, and created a whole romance around it.

I found it very interesting to follow through with this thought. It seems to be a standard practice in south Asia to take a simple fact and then build a romance around it, which then becomes 'real' to some bozos with more hair than wit. I'm now looking at the Ramayana and the Mahabharata with new insights. That they were perhaps built around a fact - one member mentioned the Battle of the Ten Kings from the Vedas as an inspiration for the Mahabharata, a very good connect - was already known; that they seem to be part of a general trend is fascinating.

So more than mere embellishments. That is interesting. Do you think there were changes being made consistently over time though these are not oral accounts, but documented?

Yes, indeed.

Slightly tangential, there are four groups who contributed to the Rani Padmini legend. Oh, you did notice that the guy who started it, given today's shrill and foul-mouthed support for the movie by Hindu bigots, was a Muslim poet out to write poetry?

That's what I read, and the fact he was Muslim seems to give the saffroni bunch some sort of legitimacy when it comes the veracity of the account.

I'm not sure If you will find this subjective or not, but I've always felt the Muslims of that era were well gifted in literature and poetry compared to their counterparts. I may be totally wrong because I am not very knowledgeable.

Sir, Imagine if some one invites themselves into your house and takes a dump on the dining table.

What happened to Graham Staines is horrible and it still shakes me whenever I remember reading that news. While this one is dastardly, what these people do is uncivil and cause a lot of tension in society.

Hiding behind it being their religious duty is an excuse to cover up their dastardly act.
Sir, I am pretty sure if RSS started barging into Mosques or Churches and started preaching their gods are false and only Hindu gods are real, you would be saying something else.

Sir a Hindu is duty bound to defend his dharma as "dharmo rakshati rakshitah", if someone tries to convert hindus it is definitely demeaning Hinduism.

Our religion makes more sense than Christianity. They avoid coming to Muslims because we will actually sit down and are ready to have a debate with them. When we deconstruct their faith they run for the hills and avoid us like the plague. But again, most of us are not that sensitive to take offence If someone wants us to join their religion. We just say no.
Dude, they will most likely be killed (if it is a guy) or beaten up/ cursed and thrown out (if it's a girl ) in a Muslim locality in the subcontinent

.
If somebody converts for some money.

He has no faith to begin with.

In Pak, we actually have Christians from the world coming to attend bigass processions and stuff.. missionaries also come.

Most people aren't religious , most poor don't care as long as they get something out of it .

Secondly we both know what will happen if these kind of missionaries did work in Pakistan , you still have polio because your Muslims think vacation is a Christian propaganda.

India is in the top 10 nations where missionary activities take place .

Most of the time involves throwing nonsensical propaganda to the religiously uneducated.

Perhaps.

If he, or she, can do it without breaking the law, good for him, or for her.

Preaching is an important part of Christian faith. By inviting people from other faiths to convert to Christianity they are merely carrying out a religious duty. If Hinduism does not encourage active preaching that does not mean other faiths don't. Missionary activity is also not a cheap endeavor. By donating money to this cause many practicing Christians believe they are committing a noble deed

only converting is a religious duty it seems!!
other principles need not be followed, lord will forgive them for that and happy with numbers of converts coming to his home....
He need their prayers badly, or else how can he even survive.

there are many Christians across africa who constantly live with problems and poverty.... All this missionary stuff is just a show off.

why the hell only christians do get donations in name of christ??? has christ even showed such distiction based on a persons beliefs??

My sister used to work as typist in GUM (Gospel to Unreached Millions), there they used to send money order of Rs 250 per person for all new convert for 5 yrs (this was in 1997), so the poor family of 4 if converts they will get Rs 1000 for five years. This how they will convert. My servant maid has converted and reason she gave is that her son asked her to convert so that family will get little extra money every month.

Joke is that, the family member of the founder used to get food from 3* hotel every day and have only mineral water and the expenses are shown as stipend to new converts.

They used to take special preaching sessions to non Christians employees, and they specifically employ Hindus and that too Brahmins. After seeing all this my sister left her job within 4 months.
