I am primarily in this forum to gain some knowledge about people in South-East Asia and about the rest of the World too.I had some knowledge about the history of Israel and its conflicts with all of its neighbours,but this particular thread rekindled my interest to gain some more in-depth knowledge about the related issues.
From whatever I have read so far, I think that conflicts were bound to happen , considering the condition in which the state of Israel was created.But the Israeli govt. should have shown a little bit of tolerance and constraint in dealing with the issues that continue to haunt the region.I have said this before and I stand by it now.
Now we will be going on in an unending loop if we try to figure out what came first,the chicken or the egg.The Israelis will keep on blaming the Palestinians and vice versa.Now comes the most difficult part.It is the responsibility of the people of the region to resolve the issue with the help of composite dialogues.A proper for dialogue has to be devised jointly by both the Israeli and Palestinian authorities.Nothing is going to change if Hezbollah keeps attacking Israeli cities and Israeli tanks keep massacring the Palestinians.
I am of the opinion that the first step towards composite peace process must come from the Israeli govt. as it is much more stable and a bigger power than its adversary,while the Hezbollah must show genuine gestures by stopping the attacks.Surely a lot of trust deficit will be there,but I never said it is going to be an easy task.
I wish,Yasser Arafat live a little longer,the Palestinians lack charismatic leaders like him.I wish,any Israeli Prime minister to understand the meaning of the word 'Peace' properly.Had it been so,then,perhaps they would have given peace a proper chance.
I don't wish to offend anyone,I am just saying what I perceive.
And,yes,Jew and Israeli are not synonymous terms(I have seen many posts to conclude that to many people they may mean the same),so I humbly request to all those geniuses not to put too much pressure on their gray matter and please refrain from reading between the lines....
