What's on your wrist?

.
Not that niche, really. I like the Glycine Airman model because it really is simple to read and to decipher the time zones in one glance.

As for the movement, do you have any idea how much these Swiss automatic movement cost?

You can buy the movement on fleabay. What ratchets up the cost of the watch are the myriad 'in-house' modifications, aka 'complications', as each house tries to outdo its competitors, then there are the near microscopic details like the uniformity of the paint on the hour markers, then the metal's grade, then the precision of the case, etc...

I made my first custom Seiko when I was 18, so yes I am fond of watches and play around with watch movements, dials a lot. Here is my collection of different mechanical and quartz movements from all over the world including a movement from a vintage glashutte. I also sell movements on ebay. :)

Wow you collected these all since a long time ?
Such an avid watch fan .

My last watch was Hugo Boss, I had it for 10 years, but recently the latch has kept coming open and needs fixing. I think i'll still keep it about for special occasions, but I've stopped wearing them. If i want to know the time, i check my phone, my laptop, my TV, clocks on the wall. I think watches are becoming a little obsolete.

Watches will never be obsolete, there will always be a market for a good old time piece. Did you know you can use the hour markers as a Compass? Watches are one of the few pieces of jewelry that men can wear and pull off well, it's not all about the money and your watch says a lot about who you are or who you want to be!

Finally, the Apple Watch is not really a watch! :P
