Discussions were held about most of these items in separate and sticky thread previously. So don't bother asking for credible evidence, just search them for yourself if you have suspicion.

2. Saab RBS-70NG VSHORADS MANPADS;
3. PF-98 ATGW;
4. Otokar Cobra II LAVs;
5. C295W tractical transport;
6. Mi-171Sh Combat-support helicopter;
7. Type D mechanised boats from Canada;
8. GDF-009 LAAG;
9. New assault rifle and SMGs;
10. VT-5 light tank;
11. Specialist communications equipment from Radmor and Harris;
12. Electronic warfare systems from Germany;
13. Air surveillance radar from Thales;
14. Medium range GMLRS from Turkey (contract signed last year, fulfilment 2 years);
15. Nora B52K1 SPH (two more regiments);
16. Amphibious warfare command vessel, landing craft and dredgers;
17. 155mm and 105mm howitzers (towed and SP);
18. 120mm towed and SP mortars from Turkey and EU;
19. Thermal imagers, laser range finders and NVGs from Western sources;
20. Various simulators for army aircraft, armoured vehicles and weapons systems from Turkey mostly;
21. Combat engineer vehicles including MLC 65T capacity bridges.

The new assault rifles- is it a new BD 08 variant?

It will be a completely brand new and different assault rifle and will be used besides standardized BD-08. According to "The Bangladesh Defence Analyst"-

"The Bangladesh Army is testing new assault rifles and SMGs to replace the aged firearms used by Special Forces units. Eventually regular units will be issued with the new kit however that may take time. Interestingly evaluation of 5.56mm calibre rifles are on. Most of the weapons are from Western sources including US, Germany, Belgium and so on. No Chinese weapons in the system."

The inclination towards western platform is quite visible on the list. So why not the assault rifles as well.

Thank you bro for this extensive list.

Just reading the list of advanced platforms coming from China, Sweden, Turkey, Serbia and others brings so much confidence to me that BD is finally following the right path in terms of military procurement.

As a lot of us have said here, BD military strength will follow it's economic strength and finally we are seeing the fruits of this plan.

This should give all those who think that BD will forever remain a weak military a dose of reality and put paid to all those who disparage BD as an Indian puppet state.
