What tablet to buy

today's new tabs can run battlefield etc, my mind is still blown from that :P
Intel chips i suppose, mobile systems like tablet & cell phone always have better gpu processing power as most of their functionality is related to rendering on screen.

I'm looking to buy a tablet, never had one before so which one are the best ones? Never been a big tech fan or nerd about technology stuff.

What do you guys think of Google Nexus(2013)?

nexus7_1.jpg
Nexus is amazing! I am using Nexus 2012 which is still doing great. It has large battery 4300 MAH and gives excellent timings. 2013 version is more powerful and have back camera but battery is bit smaller then old one. One thing you should keep in mind is the 7 inch size. Its great for reading books but if you would be watching movies or surfing lot of web then ipad mini provides better wider dimensions.

Another great feature that android offers in JellyBeans plus version is the ability to have multiple user accounts. This provides better privacy if you have to share the device with friends or family members.

I've had a dell laptop and it has lasted me for some years. I do trust their products. Also I'm not a big fan of Apple products. Never owned anything from Apple.
I own a few dell devices found them to be great .But i do love apple, their build and ease with which i can use their devices is awesome , Please do not mistake me for an apple fan though , i just love devices. :)

£200 at the moment.:(

The top 3 for that budget are these:

1. iPad mini 2
The best value iPad out there

Weight: 331g | Dimensions: 200 x 134.7 x 7.5mm | OS: iOS 9 | Screen size: 7.9-inch | Resolution: 1536 x 2048 | CPU: Dual-core 1.3GHz | RAM: 1GB | Storage:16/32/64/128GB | Battery: 6470mAh |Rear camera: 5MP | Front camera: 1.2MP

£199.00
Amazing screen
Brilliant design
Similar-spec rivals are much cheaper
16GB too low storage
It may be a premium slate but it's been superseded by the iPad mini 4 and the already discontinued iPad mini 3 and as such it's dropped in price to under £250.

Better yet, as the iPad mini 3 is basically the same tablet with added Touch ID you hardly miss out on anything by buying this older model, though you do miss out on the power-boost found in the iPad mini 4.

Still, with a brilliant screen, a stunning design and quite a lot of power the iPad mini 2 is difficult to beat at this price point. It looks, feels and performs like something far more expensive.

2. Google Nexus 9
Pure Google in a tablet

Weight: 425g | Dimensions: 228.2 x 153.7 x 8mm | OS: Android 5.1.1 | Screen size: 8.9-inch | Resolution: 1536 x 2048 | CPU: 2.6GHz dual-core | RAM: 2GB |Storage: 16GB/32GB | Battery: 6700mAh | Rear camera: 8MP | Front camera:1.6MP

£199.99
Ideal 4:3 aspect ratio
Strong speakers
Subpar display quality
Uninspiring design
When the Nexus 9 launched it was going toe-to-two with the iPad in terms of screen size and price. However that was back in 2014 and the Nexus 9 can now be picked up for a lot less.

Shop around and you can get it for just a touch over £200 now, which makes it an incredibly attractive offering. Issues with screen quality are easier to handle at this price - it's still great, just not up to iPad Air 2 standards.

There's a decent slug of power, Android Marshmallow inbound and HTC's BoomSound speakers for excellent sound quality.

3. Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+
Big battery and a built in stand

Weight: 615g | Dimensions: 261 x 180 x 8.1mm | OS: Android 4.4 | Screen size:10.1-inch | Resolution: 1200 x 1920 | CPU: 1.6GHz quad-core | RAM: 2GB |Storage: 16GB/32GB | Battery: 9000mAh | Rear camera: 8MP | Front camera:1.6MP

£149.50
Huge battery
Built in stand
Slow to charge
Heavy and bulky
The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ combines a versatile and solid stand with a decently sharp screen, reasonable performance and amazing battery life.

It's not your run of the mill tablet with its folder book design, and that may put some off. It's also quite big and bulky.

That said, for those looking for a tablet which will last a transatlantic flight the 10 HD+ is one of the strongest contenders.

Thats a older version, but nexus is better in cost to performance when compared to other devices. My only grouse is no sd card slot and higher cost for 3g model. Android is better any day , ipad apps are paid & surface has less apps on the market.
Its old version but still run very smoothly in all daily tasks and even gaming. I am not someone who just buy latest and fastest out there just for sake of it. I always buy those stuffs who give better value for money and can manage all tasks as effectively as all these latest devices. yes SD card is not there but for most people 32 GB is more than enough and also these days there are many cloud storage options and this 3g model is quiet cheap inhere just 10/15 pounds more..Ipad are shit and so are iphones. I hate itunes and these fuss of non supported formats of audio/video in Ios devices. I am some one who root devices, block ads, downlaod ******** and stuffs and run modified apps like whatsapp plus , crack version of youtube which let u donwlod mp3/mp4 straight from youtube, google play store give you more apps free of charge unlike ios

Thanks bro. This kind of makes it easy for me to pick out the best one for me, I think I might get ipad mini or the nexus. Although Ipad might just be the winner. Will check if both are available in my local Argos.

I had a tv from Lenovo, total garbage.

then go for it, I actually use my nexus as gps (non 3g one, wifi model) very good build, rugged & reliable. As you know how to root it (risky) you can even make calls, install good apps. I have done it many times , nexus is one hell of a affordable tablet for daily simple use.

I'm now torn between buying a nexus or ipad mini.

I have Xperia Z2 tablet, never had a problem, clear images, battery lasts around 1.5 week using it 2-3 hours daily and its waterproof.

You bought it from Pakistan? How come?

So in terms of batter life nexus has the edge.

You will not go wrong with iPad, or Microsoft Surface
A limitation with Apple tablets is that the phone function is lobotomized.
No Voice phone, no SMS.
Wi-Fi is less sensitive than the Samsung Android tablets.
Tested iPad 2 and iPad Air.
