Yes. BJP is trying to bypass the SAARC secretariat....probably as a stealth way of building an Akhand Bharat. If it continues then Pakistan should leave. Bangladesh and Afghanistan are free to join the Akhand Bharat.....but they should know that the future of Muslims in this BJP/RSS construct is not a happy one.

Maybe its time for an Islamic SAARC......ISAARC.

India is 80% of the economy, 80% of people, and 64% of the land of South Asia. What is the purpose of a SAARC without India? I gave you the best option, get out if you think it's useless, your void will be filled by some other country or stay vacant. SAARC can still survive without Pakistan.

Regardless of whether SAARC is useful or useless. Its the most shortsighted opinion to leave!

First, the only way to leave SAARC is that we carry Pakistan and move to some other geographic region but if we are to stay in South Asia then we can't ignore even the dysfunctional local forum of our region. WHY?

Currently, SAARC is dysfunctional due to the Two Big Bulls locking their horns with each other, if we leave SAARC, we leave the theater to India, who will pump in money and try to boost cooperation among member states in an attempt to rapidly create an entire South Asian block vs Pakistan scenario. In this case we become irrelevant to our very own region. For other countries it will be be a situation choosing one over the other which will make India even more attractive option due to already vested interests, integrated economies plus the hegemony India will enjoy!

SAARC isn't draining our money or brains so we can keep going very well. In difficult times it can definitely be of use where goals are shared, let's say the Corona pandemic (God Forbid) if it spreads in our region as severely as in the EU or in future when climate changes hit us even harder. Despite all the above who knows what the future may look like and we may not regret our stay!
