We are simply BETTER than you economically , militarily and technologically.
Why because we are More Intelligent of course.

If Today we arouse so much jealousy than what will happen in 2020

Sir, people of all races have about the same intelligence, no race is smarter than the other.

Indians have been better in all 3 sectors you mention because of good planning by their government, and the hardwork of the people, and thus, they reap what they sow.

I don't know about other Pakistanis on this thread sir, but I very well agree with what you are saying, Plan better, work harder, and that is why, I am updating most on the time on the Economy section, and yes, our governent is now on the right path already.

In my view India can only dominate the south asian region if the nuclear and conventional missile powers of Pak Armed Forces are taken away which is practically impossible.

India shall never dominate the region but some other powers would dominate the south asian region
Wrong. India already dominates South Asia. Many people live in denial mode, so be it. Given the present day circumstances and the long term fall-out of such political follies by Pakistan, your economic and military growth will remain stunted for a long time to come.
Building, storing and threatening to use nukes does not mean that Pakistan can "resist" Indian domination. Case-in-point, the French refusal to deliver advanced avionics for the JF-17 program, apparently on India's displeasure. If that aint domination, then what is?
In the above scenario US shall never allow India to dominate any part of the region. The slogan of Indian domination in the region is a camuflauge for US and Nato control over the eceonomic zones of asia.
You clearly forget that there already are two major powers who are vying for influence in S. Asia. China and India.
Though US and India do have friendly relations and US does concede control of IOR to India given Indian military presence there(A&N islands act as a natural aircraft carrier to our forces), India will NOT let US to control India's relations with China. And neither will China want another power center in Asia. So both will act together to deny US/NATO any role, whatsoever, in S. Asia.
What Paksitan has to do now:
2.Control militancy as soon as possible, allow democratic system to run and prepare for a strong defence capabilities.
3.Us and Nato countries are bent upon to control the economic zones from Kandhar, if Paksitan avoid any sort of adventure with India for at least three years the Paksitan shall survive as a partner of US in its every goal in South Asian region. Pakistan shall be in a good position to negotiate with US and Nato for peaceful transactions of economic plans with a secure economic plan for Pakistan itself.
4.Pakistan has to realize that it is a most powerful country having nuclear and conventional weapons, strong nation of 180 million with a country having every resource of survival. Pakistan has to give up operations in the name of militiancy and avoid to act upon US directions in the name of War of Terror. Create harmony between the provinces and its peoples. Remove the hatred created among the factions of the people of Pakistan.
5.We should be firm that we shall not allow any terrorism on our soil nor our soil shall be used as a lauching pad. Avoid any adventure with Iran or india. If we formulate the policies keeping in view the above details there is no country which may cause any harm to Pakistan.
6.We can go into direct negotiations with US and Nato countires with their existing plans.
God bless Pakistan.
SMIQBAL. :coffee:
Excellent points. However, US cannot control economic zones in Asia due to both India and China working together.
Road to domination of S.Asia does not go through Afghanistan. That IMHO is a very wrong opinion. That path leads through the IOR and Malacca straits, and we know who controls the IOR (Deigo Garcia is irrelevant).

So basically, to honestly answer the question posed by OP, the answer is: Give in. No matter how heroic resisting Indian domination may sound, it would be highly delusional and frankly suicidal. Rather join the bandwagon & work together, for your own and everyone's growth and prosperity. Like they say - "Resistance is futile"!

So long as competition is seen as dominance things can never change.

Challenges need to be seen as opportunities.

A comparision between the two nations will highlight issues where India has scored.

Democracy - highlighted by institutions & not personalities coupled with accountability.

Consistency in policies, plans.

Economy - needs no elaboration.

Pak needs simply to focus on these & the rest will follow. There is no ' dominance'.

gubbi,

I am not sure you understand what dominating a region means. France refusal of JF-17 deal, which is not even clear was due to India, does NOT prove indian dominance. That deal isn't even cancelled, and besides Pakistan has other options.

By the same logic, India being dominant should have got F-16 deal cancelled, and various other defence deals.

Furthermore, you need to know what dominating a region means. Are other states in the region kowtowing to India and doing what India wants them to do? Absolutely not, Pakistan being the least of them. Pakistan, along with Chinese influence, keeps India from dominating the region. It might be the most powerful state in the region, but that by no means is the same as being dominant in the region.

To the person who opened this thread:

I dont know what you mean about indian dominance. India is a country of its own and Pakistan is a country of its own. India is nothing but a neighbour. Just forget about india and look West, gas pipeline from Iran, gas pipeline from Turkmenistan, Pakistan-Iran-Turkey Railway, Gwadar Port, etc, etc

Who needs india anyways and if india starts a war, Pakistan is ready. Pakistan is also a nuclear power.

By the way, Pakistan must always support China and other South Asian countries must support China too. China is the regional power of Asia, the whole world knows this, not india.

if Pakistanis become educated this will solve all our problem. we have the worst educational system in the world, we cannot progress like this.

I've a question regarding this poll question quoted above:

If PK will not attack India ever for Kashmir then India will not attack PK ever. Then why PK needs more sophisticated arms day by day? And if PK will not attack India for Kashmir then PK will not get Kashmir ever. So is PK collecting new arms to attack India someday in future? Is there any possibility? Otherwise it's all most meaningless to shout for Kashmir and spend for new weapons!

BTW, arms will not work for PK if they will could not boost economy, education, industry and if could not stop terrorists.

Hope for all the best to PK.

import good honest politicians.
Develop energy infrastructure on own coal and gas.
Develop education
Work harder then ever
Local and chinese assissted defence industry

I was about to thank your post as I was finding one sensible post in this thread but last line stopped me doing so.. reason is why do you need China or any country in this world to stand on your feet... You are soveriegn country and trust yourself.. no need to bring any other country for your nation build up....

Dominance is a very generic term. There are areas of expertise/advantages for both India and Pakistan in their own rights.

A clarity in what dominance Pakistan may want to end will emerge with the nature of dominance that they see in the relationship. If it is military dominance, it is redundant because both are nuclear weapon states. There is no war which will last long for one to be effective winner. Cold start etc. are only limited theater scenarios so Pakistan does not need to bother on that front.

Economic dominance, I will understand. But at the moment there is no trade between these countries worth its mention so where does the question of dominance arise. Regarding the presence and acceptance at international fora, it is cyclical. Each country has its haydays and bad days. Pakistan had a lot of these nice warm days up to the Nineties. What changed the scenario so adversely for Pakistan???? The clear fact that Pakistan had been supporting the "non-state" actors or these merceneries of war in its interest to foment trouble in India. Later the genie outgrew its master and we have the result in front of us today with the continuing internal strife in parts of Pakistan.

So most of the options out there in the poll seem to be non-starter solutions. I take it that building a strong economy will for sure increase the wealth and tenacity of Pakistan hence making it a very strong state but then it is clear that they need to trade with India for achieving this.

Yes there may be voices that will say that why trade with India when they can trade with China / Afganistan / Iran in the other immediate vicinity options. My response to this is the following:

It is cheapest for Pakistan to trade with India.
There are no technological prowress needed for suppliers in Pakistan to be competitive in India because both consume similar basket of goods and hence the technology is already available in Pakistan.
To compete with Chinese goods in Chinese markets for Pakistan businesses is impossible. Why? because they will beat you down on cost and also non-trade tariffs. They have done it to every other country in the world so there is never a free lunch in China.

Afganistan and Iran could be options but they are not such sizeable markets for the profitability model to start towering. In fact there could be foreign policy repurcussions too for trading with Iran.

So trade with India for making Pakistan prosperous. The close proximity of Islamabad to Delhi can be seen from the point of view of a military man = We will get the missile in Delhi in no time. Or also that of the business man = We can get goods cheaper to Delhi and North India as compared to Mumbai or Kolkata or Southern India.

So, my suggestion is to make everything isolated from each other. The defense policy should be isolated from the economic policy. Even if this is done for a short term = 4/5 years, that will bring enough results for both countries to realize that it is better to kill each other in trade and make money out of each other rather than kill each other so that there is no money left to be made.

There is tremendous trade potential between Pakistan and India. Pakistan can in fact practically write off the Indian Cement Industry by supplying the same across the border. There are several such products where Pakistan holds a great competitive edge. Look at it this way, for the North Indian region, it might be cheaper to get vegetables and crops from Pakistani Punjab as compared to the South Western India as is happening now. There is an established rail system. Imagine with India being reliant on Pakistani food imports, it will build a stronger case to look at Pakistan's POV for the water scenario. Even though India is within its rights to develop the dams on Indus but still it will give India a self gratifying reason for releasing extra water and ensure the crops growth in Pakistan.

India has a massive power shortage. Pakistan has over the years grown in to a power deficit region and stop gap solutions such as RPPs are being considered. Imagine if both these countries join hand to invest together in the hydro electric potential of all the 6 rivers, we will not have these arguments about the dams etc. and we will be easily be able to agree in the long term effectiveness of these investments and will not fight over the desilting mechanisms too.

The way to reduce the height of a tree is to help it grow heavy with fruit. My grandpa used to say that. I think this can work with some initiative from both sides.

But for that to work, and for the needed trust to be garnered, terrorist support needs to be stopped. Give them a 3/4 year holiday. Give them something else to do for that period. This hiatus I am sure will work.

But the biggest question is, will China allow this realization of trade potential between India and Pakistan. Afterall the only country which has benefitted from our quarell is China........

First of all - the banter about using nukes borders on being stupid. In all wars between the 2 countries - both sides have avoided civilian causalities. No one should talk about using nukes at the drop of a hat.

What makes you think India wants to dominate anyone? In Nepal - India was pro-monarchy but it did not enforce its will when it became a republic. What has India done to B'desh since 1971 - during coups or when Khaleda Zia - with her anti-India stance has been elected - India has never derailed a govt. there. Nothing in Burma or Bhutan either. In Lanka, they did intervene but could not impose their will. Yes - India's soft power mainly because of Bollywood and its economy does play a huge factor in these countries (except Burma) - but how is this India's fault? It's not as if India is forcing Shahrukh Khan, Tata and Airtel down the throats of its neighbors.

Guys you are taking the meaning of Dominance as Wrong.Maybe i should have used a different word "Supremacy".
