What is stopping Federal Government from imposing emergency and taking control of Karachi?

As usual, non-Karachi folks have flocked to the thread with their assumptions and assessments without knowing the ground reality. I am tired of explaining/replying.

You know the ground reality so why aren't you protesting?

instead of going outside the law, why not try and force the politicians to implement local governance?
It's not rocket science
City has powers to collect property tax to run the city
Province has powers to take some income tax to run the province
Federal government has the power to take some income tax to run the country.

Problem is
1. people will have to pay taxes
2. Politicians will lose control, especially of tax funds.

It's not a funding issue, it's a deliberate political mismanagement issue.

Karachi didn't vote for PPP but a lot of Sindh did (mostly because it's under the thumb of PPP feudal lords) so Karachi ends up with a PPP pronvincial government. The government doesn't spend very much money there (no need, it's electorate doesn't live in Karachi) and rather embezzles the money in age honoured tradition of PPP. In rural areas they also don't spend anything, keep people poor and desperate, but often will pay family heads and local influential people money to garner votes for them at election time, or offer the family members of such people jobs in government as a "reward" for wrangling the votes of the poor.

Sounds to me like NAB needs to deeply investigate Sind and prosecute corruption.

As far as I know there is no tax on agriculture, no income tax impose on kpk
no income tax in balochistan and all

Getting people to the parliament and zimmedari khatam? Democracy is a participatory excercise if you haven't noticed and it doesn't end on election day.

i think it will create more mess if federal gov take action now without public support . people have two ways only vote or protest to bring demands on table . they want to sit in comfort zone and federal gov to face mess? its not work like this . i think if one week these guys stop social media and sit on streets problem can be solved . how hazaras /mullahs / TLP blocked the country with in hours ? remember.

I agree with you. People are criticizing federal PTI govt because they know that PTI play by rules and very decent. People avoiding to protest and take over provincial properties and houses of these corrupt ppp leaders because they know ppp will crush them under the foot. PPP like MQM have mafia wings which are armed.

TBH i live in private society and its well arranged every few days we have reain .

its pakistan yahan protest is liye kiya jata hai ke gov ko majboor kiya ja saky . we are not USA EU . yahan tum log jab tak zardaris ka jeena haram nhi karo gay wo tumhara jeena haram rakheen gay . colse airport road shara faisel ring road and khi hyd express way . NIC waly nadra hain wo kisi ko bhi de dety hain 5000 do bus . social media se kya hoga ? yahan punjab main tab tak gali nhi banti jab tak log mpa mna ke pass ja ker beth nhi jaty ke gali banay nhi to hum vote nhi deen gay . i see 100s of cases when people gather and go to mpa mna for some issue and force him to act . even i see one of our friend was arrested in election his 40-50 family men gather and go to mpa and talk to him until he arranged bail for that guy . ap log badshah wali baateen na kareen ja ker aag lagay bilawal house ko jis trah us ne apky gheroon ko laga rakhi hai . no one is anti karachi here per paksitan main kaam karany ka aik hi tareeka hai

hazara people were bombed and killed many times untill they blocked all pakistan then gov take actions and army chief go there they make check posts work on peace and intelligence guys start work to protect hazara . now many years hazara did not face any bombing in thier hazara town quetta .

so they wait and watch while other parties do protest and then they come and say hum ko yeh karna chaye hum ko wo karna chaye

i think ppp will play dirty victim card if fed take action . people of karachi should act first then fed should act once for all and make it federal city like islamabad .
