What's new

What is Imran Khan's new local system?

You gave a judgment and then asked for his record.

1) Let's discount his world cup achievement as that's sports.
2) Cancer hospital - free medical care to 60% patients - building another one in Karachi
3) Namal Technical College
4) UNICEF promoter of immunization programs
5) Numerous campaigns for disaster relief

He's done enough even while out of office. To make things happen he needs to be elected to office.
He's good at raising money - many celebrities are - can you also bring up successful examples of his management skills?

He has done more for the country then any politician -
I think you have shockingly low standards for your politicians.

Well, as much as I don't support IK, tell me Solomon2, do you really think he could be worse at management than Mr.10% or Mr.Let's-sell-out-and-then-go-to-Saudi?

I'm sure my opinions are superficial; these aren't my politicians. For what it's worth....

Both Zardari and NS ran wide-ranging businesses and estates before assuming office. Sharif strikes me as a centralizer with tyrannical qualities (he tried to enslave his party's MPs); Zardari as someone who delegates and spreads authority (otherwise he wouldn't be able to vacation in Europe while Pakistan was suffering from the floods two years back.) My guess is that IK's lack of experience will mean that most of the few reigns of government in the hands of civilians will slip again into the grasp of the military.

I still see Pakistan as a state where the military rules, treating ministers as scarcely-tolerated elected functionaries to be removed at its pleasure and only lightly hampered by an assertive Supreme Court. Those politicians who try to change that suffer either death or expulsion. I don't see how IK can change that as he will have no mandate for institutional reform of the military and its privileges.

As a Captain in cricket, he choose the right team... thats what makes him all time best Captain in Cricket

As a fund Raiser he hired the best account's firm to make sure no one points finger at his credibility. (probably no one has ever raised as much money as IK has so far...its in billions of $)

As a Chairman he set up the best teams possible for SKMH and IK foundation.

thus far as Chairman of PTI, he has managed to move masses, and bring those politicians to his party, from existing lot who are considered relatively clean and of good record, especially Javed Hashmi, probably the most respected and reputed politician since Independence.

is he an entertainer, hell No, he is a doer !!

It doesnot only require management skills, it require leadership skills the most, as its a public office... management skills are part of Leadership skills, thus far as I said he has proven his leadership skills, now it depends on his Cabinet once in government.. he is a headless horse a senior analyst points out that he wont be controlled or influenced, his will to do what he says in equal to his intentions...... so who will he select? those who want change? If Yes, he will keep his record...and signs show he will

That sums up the situation quite correctly.

If paragraph 2 is true, then your objections to Imran Khan don't matter. If paragraph 2 is false, your stance against Imran Khan also falls down.
You're also making the logical fallacy of assuming Imran Khan is going to manage everything

I don't think either/or logic applies here. Since the law is nearly irrelevant power flows and accumulates into the hands of those who can manipulate it.
