Imran is a Pakistani first and foremost. That makes him a target of religious mullahs.
But Imran is anti-War and does not support US meddling in Pakistan's affairs. That makes him a target of those who claim to be liberal but in reality are just US lapdogs (as compared to those who are actually liberal, without necessarily drooling over every line the US says).
Imran is a centre-left, passively secular politician, a Pakistani first and foremost, who does not want to establish the type of theocracy many mullahs dream of, who supports Ahmadi rights and other minorities, who is not in favour of the blasphemy law, but who is also not in favour of US drone strikes or the War on Terror. That makes him a nationalist Pakistani politician, liberal, perhaps secular.
