When it comes to defense acquisition Pakistan is way better than India. They do not have to worry about any deal till it is signed. We take a decade of o just decide which one we want. Ridiculous.
It is because in our case the Military makes the decision while in India there is a proper process, albeit very bureaucratic and hurdle-some.
If this strategy solves Indian foreign policy objectives without spending money then it is even better. It is not like India is going into a war with Pakistan or China anytime in near future. India has ~250 SU-30 that would serve IAF for another 2 decades at the least. Any new program can come post 2030. There is absolutely no hurry.
Well said.
In case of PAF I would agree but if India wants to stand toe to toe with China then IAF needs to spend a whole lot more and get top of the line Western Fighter Jets, preferably F-35 series and atleast 8-12 squadrons.
the Afghan war teaches one thing top quality machines are not needed to fight a war ... one needs a courage and one time food for survival to fight a war thats it ...
US invasion of Afghanistan can be considered Afghan war but in reality it was just aerial bombardment of a defenseless country with military invasion with the assistance of USD and traitors.
What you are referring to is urban warfare, which would not be the case if India and Pakistan go to war.
