Of course, the OP idea is just a fantasy, and I am not in favour of any empire, even aspects of it that may apply to my country. My family, (despite being as English as one can be, by blood.), fought two wars against the crown to rid ourselves of British rule and have self-governance. I am proud of my country, but always mindful that our ideas of liberty, the rule of law, representative government, that we have fought so hard for for centuries, did not come out of thin air. Those are English values, an English legacy, that we were bequeathed. I am grateful for it.
