What does a Bangladeshi of today thinks of Pakistan?

The few Bengalis I have met are anti-Pakistan but very subtley so, I definitely changed my view of Bangladesh because of them, those I have the aquaintance of are arrogant with respect to Pakistan and somehow feel that we still owe them something for what happened decades ago, I am not saying all of hem are like that but the ones I know are

the real fact is pakistan is lucky that they are muslim nation this is why most bengali cant hate them for 1971 bcz most of them seen as a brother and in good eyes cz of similarity in religion , but most of the family of liberation fighters and their generation kinda totally anti pakistani , but i will say majority see pakistan as a favorable these days unless they are in hasina leage

Who cares what they think today.... if that 8 - 9 months period of rough history which led to their freedom means more to them then historically extra ordinary terms then be it... and by the way so called massacre is highly exaggerated ....and what they had done to western Pakistanis before and after freedom was worst in human history... so they are more than even with us on it...Bangladesh should be a forgotten past for us now... it deserve nothing more than that ...

My dear friend, i would request you and all Pakistanis that we should not and must not forget a country whose inhabitants lived with us for 24 years after our independence. We should never forget the contribution of Bangladesh people as Pakistan Movement started from Bengal. The events that lead to independence of Bangladesh are the ones which I feel sorry about. Whatever happened due to our mistakes be them military or civil, i personally feel sorry for it. However, at the same time, i also want to point out the exaggerations regarding the excesses committed by Pakistan Army. If this thread somehow brings by beloved Bangla brothers closer to Pakistan. I will feel, my purpose to be a member on this forums shall stand fulfilled.

I cannot forget Asia cup match, when Pakistan was up against india in a cricket match in Dhaka. I dont recall any such match in which the roar of the crowd was that much when Pakistan won and Afridi was batting. No matter what happens we can and shall never be away from Bangladeshi brothers for long. Politicians come and go but the basis on which subcontinent was divided shall always keep on showing itself in all hues and colours.

Most Bangladeshis don't care about Pakistan because people to people contact is extremely limited between Bangladeshis and Pakistanis. Bangladeshis mostly connect with Indians because we are surrounded by Indians from all sides. So its hard to ignore them.

Most Bangladeshis extremely despise the state of Pakistan due to brutal genocide in 1971 by Pakistan to Bangladeshi people but this hatred is limited to the country Pakistan , its army, Taliban and other radical elements in Pakistan, not the common Pakistanis.

Some Bangladeshis have inferiority complex over skin color and height and wish they could be as 'fair' and 'tall' as Pakistanis. Bangladeshis in general are obsessed with fair skin and tall physique as we are not 'blessed' with fair skin and tall physique naturally. There are exceptions here and there but more than 95% Bangladeshis are dark looking like South Indians and majority of Bangladeshis are short to medium. As Pakistanis comparatively far superior in looks department than Bangladeshis most people here envy you guys for your outer look.

Bangladeshis are Muslims (90%) in majority but due to Hindu culture of Bengal for thousand of years the landmass got a culture which is a blend of Hinduism and Islam. So you will see a Bangladeshi woman putting a red bindi (Hindu symbol) on forehead which will look strange to a Pakistani.

Bangladeshis don't like Pakistan as a country but has no ill feeling for common Pakistanis.

Dear Riyad, regarding inferiority complex, i dont think this is a reality. In Pakistan, you will also see population with small statures and dark skin. At the same time, i saw your cricket team, you new bowlers are very well built and impressive. The reason is malnutrition which also affects Pakistani children. I was reading somewhere, (correct me if i am wrong) that an average american protein intake is 16 times more than an average Bangladeshi. So, with your economy growing and more money with your population, your average heights will improve. Today, an average american, european and even Japanese are taller and stronger than what they used to be in 1950. I cant forget filmstar Nadeem. He was a heart throb in Pakistani film industry and belonged to Bangladesh.

Last but not the least, even if Bangladeshi brothers abuse me here, i wont utter a word. This is my feeling towards you all. Joey Bangla. Jeevay Pakistan

please back this up with some evidence. else kindly refrain from posting inflammatory stuff. No matured adult in their right mind would condone attacks on innocent kids.

Good thing I took a screen pic of that shyt.

I read some of opinion above but I think most of commentator are not even Bangladeshi except one or two, I cannot say all about Bangladeshi people but I can say about myself . I love Pakistan and Pakistani people , when I heard any good news about Pakistan I feel happy and feel unhappy for bad news, but I love more my country and proud to be a Bangladeshi. I feel some of country is a great threat to our national security and sovereignty but that definitely not Pakistan. I know many of my native think very same way except some puppets,

I have come a cross with a Bangladeshi citizen out of Pakistan. Where he explained the security conditions there political victimization on peak and specially Hasaina Govt is placing indians or pro indians to higher ranking jobs. To hear that i was said but these are their decision they are paying off now as a nation. My only concern why Pakistan is selling them miltary hardware now? Are Indian not enough for them.

From my experience BD people are easy going, fun loving, patriotic but they got low IQ. They don't know how to cook and most of them follow Indian culture. They don't openely express their hatred or love regarding Pakistan, keep you in guess work. One thing is certain that they don't see us as an enemy. Majority of them see Pakistan as troubled state.

that's my point my friend... i see few of our gentlemen gets over apologetic with Bangalies as if they were the only victim of that incident... We had lost half of a country because of their betrayal .... our loss is much much greater than theirs.... feel sorry for your amputation before their scars....anyway .... as far as i am concern.... Bangladesh should be a dead chapter of history... it must be behind us ...

A Pew research poll showed that 50% of Bangladeshis had a favorable view of Pakistan. Now as always, with these surveys there are going to be people that have no opinion, since that is the case this means that a (slim) majority of Bangladeshis view Pakistan favorably. In addition I would like to agree with Riyad that any hatred for Pakistan has more to do with the state and politics, there's not that much hatred for the average common Pakistani. Though, from my personal experience there is cooperation between everyday Bangladeshis and Pakistanis but, I would not call all of them friendly.

people to people hatred is rarely seen. you will never see people of two enemy states showing hate in public if it happens it is very very very rare . you wont see it between Greek and Turkish, not between US and Russians, not between Indians and Pakistanis. Hate only comes out when two are anonymous to each other and if you dont believe me I can start here then watch the love pours in from all sides.

exactly my observation...

It has been my utmost desire to discuss with my Bangladeshi brothers regarding what they think about Pakistan. What happened in 1971? What was truth and what were exaggerations? As a Pakistani citizen, I feel saddened and heart broken from the incidents that lead to bloodshed of Bengali brethren which resultantly lead to creation of Bangladesh but at the same time respecting the identity and sovereignty of Bangladesh .I would like to hear from Bangladeshi friends the truth no matter how hard and how bitter it is.

Please inform and be open.

I have many Bangladeshi friends and they dont seem to have any hatred against Pakistan , I think the government of bangla is a little pro - indian the rest is just fine . :-)

what? many 'Indian' restaurants have bd crew here... and bangladeshis are certainly not dumb, they might be good at playing dumb(and horrible cook)... ha ha..

generally speaking bangladeshis do not hate pakistanis as such, they however are either hated or looked down upon by pakistanis... face to face nobody likes to hate anybody, be it american or pakistani... many random people I got help from are pakistani.

The following information by an ex indian intelligence operative not only discusses about indian intervention regarding fall of Dhaka but also other parts of Pakistan. However, it does not obviously disclose current intervention status of raw. (more to follow)

Ex Indian Spy Documents RAW's Successes in Pakistan

Are Pakistan's allegations against RAW mere conspiracy theories? Are all of Pakistan's problems today entirely of its own making? Is RAW just a dis-interested spectator of the grisly drama being played out in Pakistan?

Let's try and answer these questions by looking at the history of the Indian spy agency and its successes claimed by retired Indian intelligence officer RK Yadav in his 2014 book "Mission R&AW". Although the book cites some of RAW's actions in China (Tibet), Sikkim (annexation) and Sri Lanka (creation and support of LTTE), most of it is devoted to Indian agents' accomplishments in destabilizing and disintegrating Pakistan.

Yadav's Book:

Here are some of the key Pakistan-related excerpts from Yadav's book:

On Pakhtunistan Page 21:

" Wali Khan (son of Abdul Ghaffar Khan aka Bacha Khan) wanted moral, political and other support from Mrs. Indira Gandhi. R.N. Kao sent hs deputy Sankaran Nair to negotiate as the Indian representative. Since Pakistan embassy was keeping watch on the movements of Wali Khan, the rendezvous was shifted to Sweden where Nair and another R&AW man of Indian mission I.S. Hassanwalia met Wali Khan. Subsequently all sorts of support was given to Wali Khan by the Indian Government till 1977 when Indira Gandhi lost election".

On Agartala Conspiracy Page 197:

"In view of the disclosures of S.K. Nair, it is evidently true that Mujib was implicated in the Agartala Conspiracy case at the instance of Pakistan Government. However, it is also true that other accused in this case were certainly agents of Intelligence Bureau (IB) in India"

On Fokker Hijacking in Srinagar Page 227:

There was an agent of R&AW-Hashim Qureshi in Srinagar.......R&AW persuaded Hashim Qureshi to work for them.....After the plan was given final shape, on January 30, 1971, Hashim Qureshi along with another operative Ashraf Qureshi, his relative, was allowed to hijack a Fokker Friendship plane Ganga of Indian Airlines with 26 passengers on board, to take the plane to Lahore airport. R&AW allowed him to carry a grenade and a toy pistol inside the plane. Pakistani authorities at Lahore airport allowed the plane to land when they were informed that it had been hijacked by National Liberation Front activist militants of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. All India Radio soon made broadcast of this hijacking and the whole world was informed that the Pakistan Government was behind this hijacking...The incident overtly gave India the right opportunity which was planned by R.N. Kao, to cancel the flights of Pakistan over its territory which hampered the plans of Yahya Khan to send its troops by air to curb the political movement of Mujib in East Pakistan.

On Mukti Bahini Page 231:

Since the Indian Army was not prepared and well-equipped for an immediate army action at that point (March 1971), it was planned to raise and train a guerrilla outfit of the Bengali refugees of East Pakistan by R&AW which would harass the Pakistan Army till the Indian Army would be ready for the final assault to the liberation of East Pakistan. She (Indira Gandhi) then asked R.N. Kao, Chief of R&AW, to prepare all possible grounds for the army for its final assault when the clearance from General Maneckshaw was received for its readiness for the war.
On 3 RAW created Forces (Mujeeb Bahini, Special Frontier Force (SFF) and Kader Bahini Page 242:
"..He (Kader Siddiqui aka Tiger Siddiqui) was the main operative of R&AW in the most vital areas of strategic operation around Dacca... Kader Bahini played havoc with the communication system of the army (Pakistani), ambushed enemy columns, blew up supply and ammunition dumps and assaulted a number of enemy convoys.....all these three guerrilla outfits created by R&AW with the help of BSF and the (Indian) army proved a vital force .. "
Obviously, the author is silent on India's current activities against Pakistan, particularly its covert war being waged from Afghanistan through its agents who have infiltrated Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

Ajit Doval Speech:

For clues as to what Indians are up to now, let's watch the video of a 2013 speech by Ajit Doval delivered before he was appointed by Indian Prime Minister Modi as his National Security Advisor (NSA). Here are a few snippets from Doval's lecture at Sastra University in Tamil Nadu:
"How do we tackle Pakistan? .. You make it difficult for them (Pakistan) to manage their internal security... Pakistan's vulnerability is many many times higher than India's....Taliban have beheaded 23 of their (Pakistani) soldiers...funding can be countered by giving more funds...more than one-and-a-half times the funding they have available and they'll be yours..the Taliban are mercenaries...go for more of a covert thing"
