Faiz Ahmed Faiz, there is probably not a single Pakistani who doesn't know if this great poet and his social struggle. One of his great nazm, Mujh se Pehli si Mohabbat sung by the legendary Madam Noor Jehan. Story is after she sung this great poem and Faiz saab listened to it, he appeared on her door and named the nazm madam's. God both bless their souls.

what I coincidence, as I typed and posted the above, I learned at the same moment that today is Faiz saab's 100 birth anniversary.
