That franchise is good as dead but here is how it goes
i) Culture got stuck in the 50,s none of that hippy nonsense America turned itself into an authoratarian police state
ii) Transistor got invented in 2067 which resulted in computers being big and bulky
iii) Oil went short resulting in global conflicts
iv) USSR never disintegrated but just grew weaker over time
v) America became more and more imperialistic as time went by America took a darker path post war

The world got destroyed due to many reason but American imperialism was top reason for it
