What's new

What about jf-17 for bangladesh airforce?

Dont worry, we will sail JF17 to Myanmar Air Force

By the way, How many JF-17 have you sold in total? None. The primary contractor (China) even did not take JF-17. What makes u so sure that Myanmar (who has ordered 20 Mig-29 and 12 JH-7A recently) will buy those craps!! Bangladesh air force did not even take it as stop-gap aircraft. Its a total failure. Garbage.

.
Yes, When Indian saw JF17, they felt severe Stomach pain and cramps......

Doctors advised them to keep saying "JF17 is a Happy Hours Fighter" to get well soon

Yeah, and then they have flashed LCA down to the toilet as they were expecting much better competitor. But seeing JF-17 they thought, "We don't need this (LCA) to beat the crap out of JF-17, our 40yr old Mig-21 Bison can do that quite easily. And the Pakistanis been saying GOLD and made GOO."

PLAAF haven't inducted the FC-1 Block I, BUT they have hundreds of light 3rd gen AC that need to be phased out, they may choose later blocks of FC-1.

And the reason for not choosing FC-1 Block I is justified, since they already have a wide range of 4th gen... J-10/A/B/BS, J-11/A/B/BS, J-15, JH-7 variant, Su-30MKK/MK2 and Su-27SK/UBK.

Not to mention 5th gen and projects like J-16 under development.

They may still induct Block II/III.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Again, the way it works, is.... show interest, if you like what you see you evaluate further, if you're still on board you test it if you have to then eventually reach a deal.

No-one has said anything about JF-17 SALES, only sale prospects.
----------------------------------------------------------------
As ever it took a year or two before the weapons package, avionics were being finalized for Block I.
Then we've heard of talks and negotiations with all sorts of air forces, both Pakistani and Chinese selling the FC-1/JFT.
We all know that for a deal to be finalized it can take from anywhere to a year to three or four years for the commitment, then another few years for order and delivery.

It's only been 3 years, give it some time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, you've presented a very naive view of how all of this works....
I suggest go back to basics, research all that you can about JF-17, PAF, PLAAF etc.

.
Major Saheb. We'll see that. Let's see how many kills the Thunder books for itself and how many Nations acquire the JF-17.

I won't be surprised if BAF places an order of a squadron of JF-17s.

Do you not realize that LCA project was made well before China and Pak even singed an agreement for a new joint fighter aircraft?

And as for this view.... I quote... ' "We don't need this (LCA) to beat the crap out of JF-17, our 40yr old Mig-21 Bison can do that quite easily '. Did you come up with this view yourself, I'm pretty sure any educated Indian would've known the purpose of LCA.

Assuming they came up with it or otherwise. JF-17 Block I is already comparable to F-16 Block 30.
Now for all Blocks I-III, why even mention the Bison?

Please lend me some of the Afghanistani things that u have been smoking when u wrote this. I think i need those too to believe it.....lol......hahahahaha...lol

Alright lad... lets discuss then shall we?

Airframe/engine wise.... F-16 is closer to that of a medium weight fighter, though both are single engine, JF-17 is lighter, thus lower payload. Similar in terms of maneuverability, AoA, g-limits. JF-17 is slightly smaller. JF-17 has a larger combat radius, and both are similar in terms of range. JF-17 has lower wing loading and a smaller RCS.

Avionics- The JF-17's ECM and EW suite is pretty formidable. EFIS, FBW, FCS, other avionics from Teradyne, DAS, MAWS, RWR. Not to mention that it has been tested against the F-16 Block 15's multi-band jammer and has proven to be very capable, and to add to potency, KG-300G will soon be used too. Now how about dual realtime datalink? what about FBW? FLIR, FILAT, IRST pods? Glass cockpit, EFIS, FCS? It is comparable to Block 30/40 F-16 in terms of avionics.

It can only get better with Block II.

Radar- The KLJ-7 is an underestimated radar, the power output I'm not sure about, however the radome for JF-17 is estimated to be around 660-670mm and the rumor for the radar range being capped at 70km or even 105km is wrong. Yes they have stated ranges of 70km and 105km, but those are the ranges for a specific target size and other ranges haven't been made public. The range of 70km is for 3m^2 and 105km for 5m^2. I'll leave it you to speculate the maximum range.

PAF has stated that it has upgraded KLJ-7 to a point that they are very satisfied with it. Now with real time datalink you can receive AWACS support, you can deal information (realtime) to other fighters.

Weaponry- C-802A Anti-ship Missile
SD-10A BVRAAM
PL-5E II WVRAAM
LS-6 LGB
LT-2/LS-500J Laser Guided Bomb
LT-3 LGB
H-2/H-4 glider bombs with range of 60/120km
MAR-1 Anti-radiation missiles

Now what's your argument against this?

.
JFT/FC1 would be a good fit for a small air arm like BAF. the JFT/FC1 is a multi-role platform which is affordable for a country like BD. 1 sqdn of 18 a/c would cost ~US$550m including ground equipment. based on BAF strategy which probably is 'defensive' in nature, the JFT/FC1 can be a better day-time interceptor than the F7BG currently in service. the JFT/FC1 can also be used in the maritime strike/defence role when supporting the BN. at the end of the day, politics will play a key role when BAF planners decide to replace the current F7 / A5 fleet.

I think, you are sending wrong data on JFT. Its climb rate is not 31m/sec, but is 155m/sec. Please correct your information. BAF has decided not to import FC-1/JFT. But, this plane should not be insulted with fabricated data.

. .
Yes Bangladesh can get it. But they have to ask for it first.

. .
I'd be very happy to see 2-3 squadrons of JF-Thunder in Bangladeshi livery

.
Leave major alone. This guy is insane.

Even if BAF want to buy Jft now they have to wait for few years to get them, because the production line is limited and PAF is the first priority.i think we have to wait few years to c Jft in others livery rather than PAF.No wonder to c jft in bd after few years . Who knows if the negotiation is done!

JF-17's empty weight is wrong. That is an age old data. it has gotten heavier over the years, like an American kid nowdays. It's current weight is 6,586 kg or 14,520 lb. One of the reason for it's low thrust to weight. well, it wasn't much when compared to its initial weight anyway.

Also, its engine thrust is 18300lbf normal afterburner, and 19200lbf in boosted emergency afterburner. However the PAC website only lists the max afterburner rating as 19000lbf, which isn't surprising. The lesser denser air near the tropics tend to reduce the thrust of engines, compared to a cold frigid country like Russia. But for comparison purposes 19200 is the right number to take if comparing boosted thrust only during take-off, which is given out by Klimov. But normal useful afterburner thrust is only 18300lbf.

And Speed is Mach 1.6.

Still AA-BVR missile not integrated. And I think even laser targeting pod hasn't been either.
