Western media spreading lies about CPEC: Chinese envoy

The next five years will be the most critical moment not only for China, also for the world.

President Xi has already expressed its support for the blockchain, so hopefully it could help all developing countries to bypass the hegemony of the US financial system.

Their elite hawks firmly believe that it will be strategically a disaster to allow China to control the entire ecosystem of the future world via OBOR and 5G/6G network.

If the US has been technologically overwhelmed by China, the country will cease to exist as it was an artificial country bonded by different people whose common interest was to become beneficial by the US hegemony.

If the US hegemony is gone, the solidarity will also be gone.

Thank you for your clarification. So this is predominantly a war of tech, economic and geopolitical interests where the US and by extension its Western allies don’t want be at the losing end.

I am absolutely in awe how China is able to thwart Western propaganda and various attempts to cause upheaval. No sweat whatsoever. China has dealt masterfully with the Hong Kong riots. You can read and hear a lot of frustration in Western quarters.

How do you think China and Pakistan should deal with Western propaganda aimed against CPEC? Should both devise a counter narrative or simply ignore the Western bitterness? I know that Pakistan and China have various sites and social media channels where they promote CPEC. These channels provide the latest info on CPEC. Is this enough? Should Pakistan and China also use their respective media platforms to counter the negative propaganda to inform their own people? I realize that Pakistan and China won’t be able to defend the case on Western shores as they won’t get the platform to do so.

Separatism is the least of US concerns. They are not the ones with a million people in "rehabilitation camps."

Of course the Americans only separate children from their families and build walls to keep migrants out of their beautiful nation.

I think Pakistan and the rest of the Islamic world should remain open-minded and focus on the economic development as the first priority, since the best antidote against terrorism is the economic development. The richer people become, the less they are likely succumbed to the extremism.

The West wants the Islamic world remains divided in fragments, which will enable them to control over the Islamic world. That's why the US and Israel just keep sponsoring those terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, since the main goal is to keep the Islamic world impoverished and plagued by the terrorism.

Just look at the Islamic world at its prime time, it was much more technologically advanced and open-minded with much greater tolerance than the Medieval Europe. This is why your enemy wants to see you to be stuck with the madness and diseases.

The Chinese government understands perfectly the motive of the US, that's why they remain so calm and patient, and the HK colored revolution is now become a counterproductive for the US. And many populism from the West would likely follow suit if anything got ignited. However, the Chinese population Mainland has become totally immune of it, and has much stronger support of the Chinese government than before.

Just watch how the HK colored revolution is slowly becoming a toxic recipe for the western world plagued by the populism, whereas it is becoming an antidote for increasing immunity for the society in the Mainland China.

Western media spreading lies about CPEC: Chinese envoy

KARACHI: Chinese envoy Yu Jing on Friday said the Western media was creating a false narrative that his country wanted to achieve military or strategic designs in Pakistan through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“The Western media is spreading lies that China wants to colonise Pakistan. This is totally baseless and wrong,” the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan said at a dialogue on CPEC hosted by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR).

“CPEC is the essence of the bilateral long-term relationship between China and Pakistan. It will develop infrastructure in Pakistan,” he added.

“CPEC is not going to guarantee a complete turnaround in the economy of Pakistan, but it is a small part of it. China is making a huge investment on a partnership basis. We are helping Pakistan in various sectors including education, agriculture, social development, technology transfer, etc.”

The Chinese envoy said CPEC would not only connect China with Gwadar but also lead to Afghanistan and Central Asia. “We are trying hard to make this world a better place. Gwadar is an emerging port of Pakistan which has been a long-awaited dream for Pakistanis and their government,” he noted.

The ambassador said China was waiting for the Pakistani government’s free-zone policy, after which it would launch 19 projects in Gwadar alone.

“China is spending $40 million annually to keep Gwadar port functional as it has now started commercial operations as well. We send a commercial vessel every week to Gwadar port. In the next phase of the second Free Trade Agreement, we will establish manufacturing units of agriculture, seafood and other industries and that will also create jobs.”

Yu shared that the biggest issues of Gwadar were electricity and freshwater. “China will install a power plant of 300MW and a desalination plant with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes. We are also constructing a 200-bed hospital, education and vocational centres and a new international airport in Gwadar. Work on these projects will start from the end of this year,” he added.

We are also considering a transit trade for Gwadar port. Chinese companies will invest $10 million in the fisheries sector alone and install seafood processing plants. We will purchase seafood from fishermen. It will also boost the local fisheries industry.”

The ambassador said China would stand by Pakistan for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. “We are also working for Kashmiris to help them get their fundamental rights and justice. There should be a justified solution to the issue of Kashmir and China will stand by Pakistan for regional peace and stability,” he reaffirmed.

Speaking on the occasion, KCFR Chairman Ikram Sehgal said that certain forces were unhappy over CPEC and trying to spread negative propaganda against it. “If they are so sincere with Pakistan, then why don’t they invest here?” he asked.

Later, Sehgal presented a KCFR crest to the Chinese ambassador.

KCFR General Secretary Commodore (Retd) Sadeed A Malik also spoke on the occasion.

Superb analysis. Thanks for the insights. I couldn't agree more with investing in economic development. Pakistan and China are on the right path. It was only a pipe dream for years envisaged by great minds. We only heard of China and Pakistan working together on massive infrastructure projects in textbooks. Remember the West always used to ridicule this idea. It was supposed to fail and not materialise. Even if the cooperation got ahead it was supposed to fail due to security blah blah. CPEC hit our enemies truly like a H-bomb.

I still remember the first few weeks where the Western media went into a state of mourning. The news was surreal for the West and we all remember the days ahead disbelief turned into toxic hatred. Now that the reality has set in, the West is deploying other means to counter CPEC. It is using propaganda, but this has little effect. It is trying to create a wedge between Balochistan and Pakistan. A province the West hadn't heard of is suddenly their prime interest. CPEC is thriving. The milestones achieves speak for themselves. One project after another is being completed and handed over to Pakistan.

Pakistan and China must remain vigilant. When the Trump administration floated the idea of "more terrorism" on the CPEC route they didn't bluff. The Americans are going to put every bit of effort into destabilising CPEC. They will use overt and covert means. The Americans are extremely irritated and angry. Pakistan and China need to be prepared both militarily and also on the diplomatic front.

While the western world especially the WASP doesn't want to see the non-white world getting developed and rich, because there will be fewer available resources to them based on the limited resources on Earth.

The problem is that the modern Americans are becoming increasingly more parasitic who don't want to work hard. Their ancestors had developed their country by looting and plundering around the world. Now they have become increasingly more degenerated whether from the left or right, everyone has this kind of freeloader mentality. These spoiled brats cannot even sustain the legacy left by their ancestors. That's why the modern America has completely failed in the STEM, and their military industrial complex is also crumbling at the same time. The total debt is at the astronomical level which is at least several dozens times of their current GDP. And they are blaming all their misery on China for no reason.

For example, they just keep blaming China for the pollution, meanwhile also blame China for not taking their trashes anymore. See how they can't even recycle the wastes produced by themselves.

This kind of slave-owner backward mentality needs to go away, and the non-white people around the world are not their slaves, and shouldn't take any responsibility for their own misfortune.

The Western world is not in the mood of sharing. Let's face it. The Western industry has been over exploiting resources for centuries. Western consumption is excessive and it is bound to come at a high cost. The high cost is excessive use of natural resources. The high cost is extreme pollution caused by excessive industrialisation and exploitation. The high cost is waging wars for cheap resources. This is pure greed and people who are addicted to over exploitation and excessive consumerism cannot stop. The West has become a consumption junkie. They have to steal in order to satisfy their requirements for an obscene amount of consumption. This conflict between China and the West is also about satisfying consumerism.

That's why they are creating their own demise, not China.

Even there is no China in a parallel universe, the US still cannot prevent this fate. There would be another country from the developing world to lead the rest of the world to break loose from the US hegemony and becoming a last straw to break their back.

They are already crumbling internally, and regardless which country is taking the current role of China, the outcome will still remain the same. And the guy like Trump will only accelerate this process.

@maximuswarrior That's the kind of drivel they use to penetrate the benighted individuals just like the one you have been at odds with on the very thread.

Pakistan’s official narrative holds that the country’s friendship with China is “deeper than the ocean” and “higher than mountains.” But this narrative has recently been dented.

CPEC was projected to stimulate an 8 to 10 percent increase in Pakistan’s GDP by 2030, but some Pakistani experts fear a debt trap.

The new Pakistani government does not seem as enthusiastic about CPEC as its predecessor.

Under Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was elected in 2018, CPEC projects have begun to stall.

The development of the port of Gwadar—CPEC’s backbone—is underway in Balochistan, where a separatist insurgency operates. With the arrival of Chinese companies, the Baloch have now labeled the Chinese as exploiters, too.

In the future, Pakistani jihadis may increasingly target Chinese interests in retaliation for China’s treatment of the Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang region.

Complaints of uneven distribution of CPEC investment within Pakistan have fueled tensions.

In Pakistan, China’s public image suffered a blow after reports about Chinese men duping poor Pakistani families into arranging sham marriages

Soon, Pakistan’s special relationship may face a serious test.

The US chose the wrong path by engaging itself in greedy wars. Wars that were initiated on false premise. Of course these wars also had a historically racist and religious angle to it.

China chose a different path. Development and prosperity can also be attained through fair play without engaging in wars. China built bridges. The West who colonised, plundered resources and riches is envious and bitter.

Today the propaganda against China is backfiring. From Uyghur propaganda to Hong Kong. No one is in the mood of nodding yes to Western accusations against China.

Now this is a reputable media outlet according to Western and specifically US standards. The hate these people possess against China and Pakistan speaks volumes.

Luckily the vast majority of Pakistanis and Chinese stand shoulder to shoulder with their respective governments. The handful of soldouts that make noise have zero impact.

The few Afridi's and Daud Khattak's the Americans and Westerners can buy has no meaningful impact.

Because the US only has 200 years of history, and most of their ancestors were a bunch of illiterates from Europe, that's why their elites can be easily blindfolded by the American exceptionalism.

Whereas China has 5000 years of history, and the Chinese elites have overall a much broader vision about the history and the world.

The exceptionalism is absolutely toxic and will lead us to create our own demise. The white supremacy is the absolute outcome of the exceptionalism. If you need the recipe for success to survive in a long course in the history, you absolutely need to throw it into the dumpster.

For all we know these could be pseudonyms for Cohens and Bergs :D. An unknown "expert" residing in Prague has rendered an implausible rebuttal on something that encompasses a wide range of distinct areas and yet it's handpicked by FP for a publication. :tsk:

China stealing techs and IP theft are the codewords for China is developing too much and too fast.

So you call this is not a lie?

Everyone in this world has a human brain, and it won't take an alien brain to figure out your earthling technologies. So China has no need to steal your technologies, we can just figure out everything by ourselves, and this is not stealing.

They have an army of intellectuals such as Daud Khattak's and Cohen's. The problem for the Western world is that such propaganda does not have the desired impact on host nations. The propaganda is good for domestic consumption.

Although the US hinting towards terrorism is a MAJOR problem. We cannot and must not take it lightly. It is a clear cut message that the US won't back off and is ready to instigate violence through covert means.

The primary question of this topic is not Germany. The primary question of this topic is how China and Pakistan ought to counter Western propaganda against CPEC.

Stop derailing this thread.
