Actually they don’t - I don’t want to make this a Turkey bashing thread but the European dislike Turkish people with a passion - ask any Cypriot or Bulgarian.
Yes it's true, but there is a catch.
I was trolled by a Croatian on Quora almost a year ago who claimed to have lived in Istanbul. His hate mongering comments against Pakistanis and how Turkey is a great "secular" "gender-equal" country and being "culturally closer to Europe" alone made it clear to me who's been brainwashing him.
He's actually only one example of how foreigners who visit Western Turkey's coastal areas get brainwashed by these Kemalists against Pakistanis. These same Kemalists compare themselves to religious lower classes of other Muslim countries to show case their "secularism."
Talk about comparing apples and oranges. What if I were to compare the secular urban upper classes of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad etc. to the rural religious classes of Turkey. Not fair, right?
But that Croatian troll is only one example. I've noticed this trend of foreigners going to Turkey and experiencing it's less religious areas and Kemalists taking advantage of it and convincing them that it represents Turkey as a whole, while the rest of the Muslim countries are like Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.
Mostly European and North American neo-liberals, including feminists (probably the stupidest of their kind) fall prey to these Kemalists and other kinds of pseudodo-secularists around the world.
While it's not to suggest Turks as a whole hate Pakistanis and are quite friendly to it, the Kemalists blame us and hold us in contempt under the false premise that they are "too secular" to relate to us because we are "too religious."
I mentioned in another thread, I knew one in person and he was one of the worst low-life liars i'd come across. And as I also mentioned, an ethnic Greek woman who's grandfather survived their atrocities, told me they cannot be argued with might be true, the problem is they are busy poisoning other people's minds against Pakistanis and trying to gain support amongst Europeans.
I was trolled again by a Greek woman on Quora, again without asking for her comment on how Pakistan can be advanced like Turkey when our women are uneducated and have no rights. Looking through her profile, she frequently traveled to Turkey's Western coasts.
Only after linking a video on honor killings in Turkey and explaining to her that she hasn't seen the greater aspect of Turkey, she later then began delete her comments aka "eating her own words."
The Croatian also backed out of the argument when i linked a video of Pakistani peacekeepers re-stabilizing Croatia. But he turned up again commenting to others about how Pakistanis think of Turks as their brothers because of Ertugul and the feeling is not mutual.
I messaged him in private and told him how "European brotherhood" is a fantasy and how Turks and Slavs alike are disliked by West Europeans.
Im not trying to claim Turks cannot be genuinely secular. I have named a few genuinely secular Turkish scholars myself on this forum. But the pseuodo-secular Kemalists are not friends of Pakistanis and need to be rooted out and exposed seeing how they not only lie, but incite others that they've brainwashed to lie on their behalf.
