I don't like to counter you...But this sums up "Pakistan will not go into arbitration against the Dubai-based Etisalat for not releasing $800 million outstanding on account of the purchase of 26% shares of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), as it would have negative consequences on bilateral relations between the two countries."O bhai, it will be paid when assets are transferred, has the asset transfer been completed 100%? Secondly, it is not US$800m.
Etisalat is doing business , anybody will do it what they are doing.
3248 properties to be mutated in favor of PTCL. Of these, 3,215 have already been transferred till date (99% of agreed properties) leaving behind 33 outstanding properties the fair value of which is around 92 Million USD and etisalat has refused to accept this also.
This is what i said politics vested interest of our rulers..They care more for there properties in UAE.This whole transaction was politically affected.
How can 1 company after winning the bid claim , they’re paying too much just because the second highest bid was much lower. You pay what you say you will pay. They then said we need more concession. Etisalat original offer was 2.6 billion dollar and after winning they said no..We will just pay 1.2 billion. Out of that 1.2 billion 800 million is still stuck. Effectively they just paid 400 million USD.Etisalat behavior was dubious from day 1 and they politically play with our sold out elite. Amount outstanding is 800 Million USD not less
Pakistan better charge interest for this outstanding amount it will reach more than 100 Million dollar.
What i am saying this is simply a transaction between a Company and Pakistan government while our politician has made it UAE and Pakistan..That's where i disagree and the transaction transparency becoming questionable. It should be dealt between a company vs government .
No way i am questioning UAE state involvement in this.
