I don't know man, I feel we've stayed neutral for way too long. If we're to be a power that are taken seriously, we need to stop tip toeing around, and pick sides. Not without keeping our national interest in mind ofcourse.

One it isn't 2015 anymore. India's relation with Saudi has advanced a lot to go back on the basis of principles. Like I said national interest takes precedence.

Two, Turkey has made it easy for us with Erdogans stance that he will rake up Kashmir issue wherever possible. So now that they are committing War crimes, we need to do more than just make statements.

And I'm all for India playing a larger role in middle east, but we are far from doing anything substantial at this point, we have just begun having good relations with few of the countries.

Well I don't know about the numbers but surely a good chunk of shias from Pakistan have died protecting Assad's regime. I came to know this from a syrian friend who was studying in Pakistan.
