What's new

We are a part of India: Bangladeshi finance minister Mustafa Kamal

The word being used is heard as "Were" as compare to "ARE". Furthermore, the whole statement is done in past tense/past reference like "once upon a time" "India was". Also, there is statement in start of video in Bangla language so that if anyone can translate that properly; the subject may be allowed to continue or otherwise, will be closed for further discussion.

Regards,

However, under current political scenario in Bangladesh especially under SHW regime; be it the "Were" or "ARE"; doesn't make such difference.

In Bengali, he said, Bangladeshis living abroad have very less idea about Bangladesh. They must know the country first, do work for country's citizens, we came on this earth for this.

He said at first we, the Bangladeshis were part of India but at the ending he said we are a part of India. Is it true?

He said " At that time (before partition) we WERE also part of India. Another shitty thread for troll fest.

@Dubious @waz @The Eagle @WebMaster @WDN @Horus this guy is another false flagger. Continuously writes BS about BD to defame the country and create troll-fest. Check his postings list in his profile you will see. Is it so hard to permanently ban some trash to keep the forum peaceful?

No, nothing he said in Bengali was about India or OP.

listen again then. he said we were then said we are

For everyone; not by listening but forensic says there is clearly use of word "are" by the end.

Were and are; used on two different times in video. slow it down and observe if you want to evaluate it. There is clear mention of "are" in the end. Past tense/context ended by the end of his statement in English. But still, if there is any written article/statement being published; do share so the action will be taken.

Furthermore, I don't know much about the person in question and his political views hence, such history & his affiliation can also validate the context as what he was referring too on that moment.

"At that time we the Bangladeshis were also part of India. So we can also claim that once upon a time we were a rich country. Can't we claim like that? We were a part of India, is it true? So India was a number one country, can't we say that we are also number one country?"

Why would he use "are" in one sentence then use "were" in next one? Stop twisting his word to get trollgasm. And he doesn't sound so fluent in English.

video is titled:
Bangladesh part of India: Finance Minister Mustafa Kemal in London,

Not surprised. The usual suspects have taken the quote out of context to rub it in to Bangladeshis.

The minister said if India of past, of which present day Pakistan and Bangladesh were both a part.

I think it's time some people move on and give Bangladesh the respect it deserves. They demanded freedom from Pakistan the same way Pakistan demanded freedom from India. Atleast in that aspect you need to respect their independence.

Not surprised to see you mixing two different occasions and all the root cause behind independence of Pakistan & separation of West Pakistan now Bangladesh. Respect the struggle at first, needs to start by ourselves.

did you watch the video or are you defending the lie because you are flattered by his saying that India was a number one country?

I actually watched the video to verify.

He uses are but from what he's trying to say you can clearly make out the context.

a) India isn't a rich country now. Do you think otherwise?

b) he goes on to say, we can also claim we have a rich history.

What he means to say is though Bangladesh came into existence in 1971, their history doesn't begin in that year.

Not surprised to see you mixing two different occasions and all the root cause behind independence of Pakistan & separation of West Pakistan now Bangladesh. Respect the struggle at first, needs to start by ourselves.

I didn't ask you to agree with their reason. I said just like you think Pakistan's reason was valid enough for it to separate from India. (Small country seceding from big) you should respect their existence without taking a jibe at them at every opportunity available.

After all they also wanted right to freedom, whether you agree with their reason or not, they wanted independence and have it. So respect their existence and stop calling them India's wife or India's satellite state. It just shows you as bitter.

and in that last para, it isn't just for you but for many here who mock Bangladeshis often.
