So, bro @Viet ,I think u should stop comparing VN with none TPP like Indonesia. Lastest news: in 2017 cars imported from Indonesia to VN is ranked second after Thailand. But in 2018, Zero car is import from Indonesia till now.

The Indonesian government and businesspeople were told to watch Vietnam closely as its economy may exceed Indonesia’s in the near future due to rapid growth rates of the economy and exports.

Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi said he had recently informed the government to send delegations of businesspeople and other stakeholders to Vietnam to establish better economic cooperation.

Being poor has some benefits. Thanks to our low GDP we enjoy low to zero tariffs when exporting our stuffs to Europe and elsewhere while other rich countries face high tariffs and strict import rules. Besides we receive cheap loans and free handouts.

My only concern is VN installed capacity is 500,000 cars a year. Vinfast currently sets up a plant of 500,000 units a year. More can be produced. It is actually too much for VN domestic market. We need to find export markets.

Yes.see, so now,pls ust stop comparing VN, a TPP nation, with none TPP nations. From now, maybe Indonesia,Thai should try to convince CN buy cars that cant import to VN...I dont know what will happen to their export cars, what will happen to their workers when CN also dont wanna buy.

For Vinfast car, we can sell to TPP nations like Aussie,CAD,Sing etc if it has good quality

My friend, nothing can be said until TPP is up and running and proven as fruitful for the betterment of VN economy. We shall wait and see first.

If that happens (which I doubt will ever be) then TPP nations will lost big markets of (at least) almost 400 million people as Non-TPP nations will retaliate by blocking export from TPPs also.

In the last 25 years or so only two countries S Korea and Poland were the last ones that reached high income and developed status. Korea suffered a war, the Koreans were as poor as the people in Africa today. Indonesia enjoys a long peace period why have you failed to reach the same level?

Stop comparing Vietnam with South Korea you guys have nothing in common. The sk receives "Yuge" financial aid for post war reconstruction & SK ironically have Japan to thanks for helping SK with infrastructures & investments. There's a saying that SK will not get where it is today without Japan.

I don't know why is US mentioned in TPP deal since Trump has already pull US out of it. USA is not a TPP country.

Japan and Korea imports only luxury continental brands like BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi etc. Others can just forget about exporting cars to these two countries.

Donald Trump faces pressure from the US farmers calling to join Tpp. as for cars, we will see if we succeed. two models of Made in Vietnam cars will be introduced at Paris Car Salon 2018. the VinFAst car factory makes great progress. Construction has just began by September last year, all should be completed by July 2018.
