What's new

Was China's WTO accession 20yrs ago the start of West's suicide?

Yes, and it was all so that western MNC's can maximize profits and the fat compensations to their executives, at the expense of western workers...

Irony is beautiful in this case...their greed a few centuries ago led to colonialism and destruction of east and global south and now the same greed will spell the downward spiral of western powers.

.
During WTO ascension, the West strategy is not wrong either -- forcing China to open up the market so that Western industrialized product destroy local companies. Something like how the West destroyed the post USSR industrial system.

The strategies work at the first phase.

Incidentally, there was massive layoff in many SOE, and many bankruptcies. Many SOEs was sold to the white man. Even Huawei was nearly sold to Motorola. The opening up of China resulted to massive trojan horse such as Ali and Lenovo, all controlled by white man in one way or another -- that still harm China till today.

Long Yongtu the WTO negotiator was labeled a traitor and has lost power since.

However, the West under-estimate the ability of Chinese to upgrade their industrial system. Using the opportunities to buy western equipment and software as well as partial opening up of West to China, China renew her industries quickly.

Without the intelligence and diligent of Chinese people, the WTO will render China to be Ukraine 2.0.
Excellent summary
Now there are some parties in the West who seek to turn back the clock, who want to bring jobs back home, and somehow restore their competitive edge of old, but this is sweeping against the laws of economics itself and market realities. As capitalism does, it gravitates towards the greatest market, the biggest demand and the most efficient supply; it has nothing to do with the “CCP cheating and stealing,” as it is so ignorantly and frequently asserted.
The west accepted China into WTO hoping to turn the country into another banana republic, what they didn't expect is China turning into their economic rival. In fact they were successful in early years when hundreds of Chinese SOE gone bankrupt or sold at dirt cheap prices to the west.

Now they are crying about re-shoring or "taking jobs back", but what to take if they had never sent jobs to China in the very first place? Almost all jobs are owned by Chinese companies competing in respective fields, some by FDI from neighboring Asian countries, what's for the west to "take back"? It's even more hilarious to hear them crying "China steals IP" when WIPO, an UN organization in which west are founding members, has shown the world a completely different global IP map in contrary to what the west has constantly lied about, what to steal if you have none? The west doesn't own the IP/innovation, doesn't own the jobs, doesn't own the capital, there's nothing for them to "take back".

Deng and his cronies always wanted to sell China dirty cheap to the US.

Thanks to China's protagonist aura and the bless from Chairman Mao, we have finally outlasted our enemy.

The hegemonic/colonialist West has that messianic strand in them, naively believing that there is somewhat an ageless formula to work each time it is applied regardless of the geography, people and times.

Simply, the mentality behind their view of China's ascension was that once it is in a Western club, it would get evangelized into a second rate Japan.

What happened was that China had a longer vision. With trials and errors, it went through the most testing times. I believe China has just begun to reap the early harvest of its hard, intelligent work. More in the line.

Exactly, there is actually very little the West can 'take back.' The growing frustration and hysteria in Washington clearly suggests that they do not have the leverages they thought they had over China.

They have two options only: Come out and compete (even a dirty one, as the US is used to), or pull back and whine. The US is transitioning from the former to later. The whole mess in their governance is the outcome of this painful transition.

It is a known fact among the elites, but not taught in economics text book that only the strong economy advocate free trade. The industrial product will devastate the foreign nations, reducing everyone of them into economic vassals. Hence US is the biggest proponent of free trade -- until now it seems that China creep up and now is the stronger economy.

If US does not protects her market, it will be a matter of time China product will ruin US companies. Right now we see US lower end companies being drive to bankruptcy by Yiwu guys. The RF and communication sector bigwig such as Motorola, Lucent goes belly up due to Huawei.

Soon US will be Ukraine 2.0.

The option of starting a shooting war must be on the table for US planners, and then use national security as a pretext to protect US industries.

Nevertheless protectionism does not even work on the horizon. In order to sustain the system of inequality, serfdom in domestically, US elites deliberately destroy her public school system, introduce opoids and marijuna for recreation purpose, stir wokism, start identity war of sex race. The quality of US workers will not be able to support US re-industrialized initiative.

US elites has no effective plan B other than trying to foment civil war in China.

Western corporations got what they wanted from China and a lot more. Many rode years of bumper profits. China became their manufacturing base giving them unbelievable profits for decades and its market became their most important consumer of goods.

But the West wanted to have its cake and eat it too. All of this wasn't enough because China started to move up the tech ladder quickly and would not allow Western infiltration of its political system. That is why China is now deemed dangerous.

Deng was worthless, with or without him, China will have its economic reform. We all know that the Dengists want to steal all the credits for Deng.

Thanks to Chairman Mao's cultural revolution, China didn't share the same fate as the Soviet Union in the late 1980s.

On the other hand, if the Soviet citizens had experienced a cultural revolution like the Chinese citizens, they wouldn't succumb to the manipulations and distortions made by the Anglo-Saxons.

US industrialization in its inception benefitted from the chaos colonialism brought over Eastern nations and world wars to Europe.

On an even playing field as it is today, they hold little chance.

They hate Mao Zedong because he not only built some very basic industries, but also a very basic governance ideology based on historical dialectic method.

Just imagine that someone NEW enters your backyard where you have been dominant for centuries, and then BEATS YOU AT YOUR OWN GAME in ONLY 2-decades!! This is what has happened, and now like an absolute sour LOOSER, the West is crying like little girls, calling this whole system they established and have been manipulating, as RIGGED !! What freaking cry babies !! :omghaha: :omghaha: :omghaha: :omghaha:
just goes to show you how feeble & fragile the global economic & financial system really is. yes, the west had dominated for centuries but it only took an export driven economy with a powerful, intimidating military to push the entire western world down the poop shoot. the same holds true for the global dollar based financial system. when a powerful duo like China + Russia tell tht smaller countries to default on their intl debt & that they will protect them, the entire financial system crumbles and falls apart.

That's true, Mao did learn from Stalin how to build up the foundation of the industrialization, but he has also developed the ideology based on historical dialectic method AKA the Cultural Revolution.

If the late Soviet leaders could perceive the importance of the Cultural Revolution, maybe the tragedy of the Soviet Union could be averted.

Although the Cultural Revolution 1.0 also had many flaws because of the inexperienced governance, since Chairman Mao himself also had no idea how to practically conduct this brand new experiment, but at least it was a worthy experiments, and China wasn't the hellhole like the western media used to describe. And the western media just used the same tactics to demonize the Soviet Union.

The future Cultural Revolution should be conducted in a more correct method, and try to avert all those mistakes made during the first Cultural Revolution.

Most Chinese people now wholeheartedly support a more flawless Cultural Revolution, and those who deny it are really simpleton and superficial.

Some people are indeed stupid, or feining stupid (which is worse) to judge 70 years prior's conditions with today's knowledge of the past.

Marx-Engels: developing the idea of communism

Lenin: create a solution how to conduct a successful communist revolution

Stalin: create a solution how to build up the industrial foundation for the communist regime

Mao: developing an ideology to prevent the communist regime to get corrupted and subverted within

The Chinese people like most people in the world just evolved from a feudalist society over several thousand years, and the capitalism is just a modern form of the feudalism, and it keeps enslaved us. And the original purpose of the Cultural Revolution was to free us the human beings from those backward ideologies that embedded in our gene and our soul for many thousand years. Since the first trial was premature, and it was running out of control. And the collapse Soviet Union and the rise of Dengism that led to control China before President Xi came to power was indeed a setback for the communist revolution. However, the hope isn't completely vanished. The seed of the Maoist Cultural Revolution is still preserved. And the biggest nightmare for the US is the Maoist resurgence to fully control the current China. That's why the western narrative always loves to glorify Deng Xiaoping, because they want their Dengist oligarch allies to remain in power in China. So they can keep controlling China, also preventing the Maoist China from re-allying with a fully awakening Russia.

Because we have learned so much dialectic methods from the Maoist Cultural Revolution, that's why we know who is our real enemy that caused the greatest misery to us. And we are not those stupid Trump supporters who keep faithfully defending the same people and political systems that screwing them so hard. Yet they keep got brainwashing by their oligarch masters by staunchly believing that communism is their greatest enemy that caused the greatest misery to them.

President Xi also understands clearly what is the biggest internal problems for China, and that's why he is now waging the relentless wars against those Dengist oligarchs, and going after them one by one. First with Alibaba, then Evergrande, and Lenovo will be the next.

Those Dengist oligarchs are just as disgusting as those people who destroyed the Soviet Union, and need to bring to justice by people's cultural revolution.

The truth is china and russia actually have a future. US + West signed their death warrants with importing hundreds of millions of black and hispanic people into their countries. the white identity and white culture will become minority in a few years time and eventually dissolved completely by an afro hispanic culture. America lost the demographic war and along with that, they lost everything else.
