Walmart refuses to place fresh orders with Pakistan

That would mean we would keep on using natural seeds. The whole point of modified seeds is that they give better results. Resulting in more profits for farmers. If this corporation don't earn profit, why would they do any R&D? Think of it this way. Apple developed iphone. Some company copies it, and sells it cheaper. Would it be right? All the hard work of R&D was done by that apple. So all the profits from sell should also go to apple. Put yourself in their shoes and think.

What is bad is to not give farmers any choice. It should be choice of the farmer which seed to use. If he uses natural one, all is well. If it uses the one developed by some company, it should follow the guideline of that company.

are you opposing me because I'm pakistani?
so whats guna be next the designer babies cant reproduce good looking babies with out giving money to the people who genetically modified them?

natural seeds are the best way to go.
but no matter what the situation no matter even if its not fair nobody should have monoply over the food thats simple and clear and nobody will let it happen just watch besides our fu cked up congress in america who care more about corporations then us.

So have you been to BD, recently (prior to the on going unrest)?! Just curious!!!!

As for this matter, how about your own country, 'the incredible india'?! Supposedly the powerhouse!!!!
Where 'MILLIONS' of folks are still 'DEFECATING' on the streets & where ever they can find a spot to 'SQUAT'!

So please, let's not start feeling all 'High & Mighty', cuz, like the saying goes 'All That Glitters is NOT gold'!

Sir I don't have to go to Bangladesh to know how it economy is doing.

And Thankyou for brining India into this. Just proves my point that you guys will go to any extent to justify yourself instead of looking in wards, identify the problem and find a solution and act on it.

Criticism is important in development weather its a country or an individual. Ignore it at your own peril.

I am opposing you because I am a researcher. In fact, I am not even opposing you. I am saying it should be choice of farmers. Those who want to use natural seeds should be free to do so. Those who elect to use modified ones, should follow the company/govt policy regarding that. What is wrong with this reasoning?

Modified seeds have some benefit over natural ones. That is why companies are able to sell them.

The better option is that govt of corresponding countries step up the research in this area, and provide the farmers with cheaper, string free alternatives.

Wow ...first you try to grab the opportunity....when Walmart refused ...you say....we are saved from US slavery.....Wow

Are you that desperate to come across smart that you make the dumbest statements.

I cant see your country flag...being on mobile..
But if you are from india and dont know what these GM seeds did to indian farmers...i am surprised.

This seems of topic and needs a thread of its own, but those genetically modified vegetables/food can be quite dangerous to health, I do not know if we import such seeds from china, but if we do, I think we seriously need to look into that, I do not want genetically engineered farming in Pakistan, I would prefer the organic food, the natural way.

@Topic. As for selling cheap junk to Americans, I guess is an economic lose for Pakistan..

Time and time again your politicians screw you guys over. Seriously- SL is moving ahead, BD is moving ahead, India is moving ahead but PK risks being left behind as these scumbags in power keeping selling out to vested interests.

It is sadly true that Pakistan does not look like it will get out of the economic malaise it has been for the last 5 years.

The IMF in it's latest report predicts that Pakistan will only grow by around 3% a year while Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka will do 6%+ up to 2018.

As for the "scumbags" comment when referring to Pakistan, the present BD government is also full of scumbags:lol:. The difference being that they have not been able to destroy what had been painstakingly built up over the last 30 years.

Wishing Pakistan well for a peaceful and prosperous future. Damn, I wish that Imran Khan had won as he might have just made a massive difference to the future of Pakistan.
