every news site is reporting it...........looks like Army General has filed a affidavit in Supreme court against VK singh.

This is a very serious matter......Army should not indulge in personal vendetta politics .....and what was singh trying to complish by stopping promotion of his junior???

it is serious then. recently Wife of Gen VK Singh lodged complain of blackmailing against some persons, Some thing is cooking.

VK Singh was by far the most unprofessional Indian Army Chief in recent history. He tried to extend his tenure as Army Chief. I guess he mistook India for Pakistan. He seems to have no respect for protocol. His birth certificate ploy was pathetic.

Sure.
But it doesn't change the fact that General VK Singh tried to influence the promotion process by unfairly issuing DV ban on Gen Dilbar Singh for his alleged failure of command and control in an operation in Assam. Charges against him were rightly dismissed.
Even The Ministry of Defence, in its affidavit filed earlier in the apex court, had rejected Mr. Dastane’s contentions and had also censured the manner in which Mr. V K Singh had placed Mr. Dalbir Singh under DV ban.

well u can not say Inquiry was unfair or not ... but there was an inquiry for sure. The MOD of that time was the most lame duck one and his animosity with Gen VK Singh was well known. The famous hit job on Gen using the coup theory was conducted by MOD.

Just a part of decades long fight between jat/sikh lobby and rajput lobby in the army.
