We are playing the catch-up game, while no proactive steps are being taken to ensure 45+ squadrons of front line jets required to face two enemies.

I hope the "catch-up" mean US.

By 2020, India will have...
260+ MKIs( 14 squadron)
60 Mig-29UPG( 3 squadron)
50 Mirage-2000I( 3 squadron)
40 Tejas( 2 squadron)
18 Rafale( 1 squadron)
120+ Jaguars( 6 squadron)
and a mix of 80-100 Mig-21bisons and Mig-27s( 4-5 squadron) waiting to be phased out in near future.
PS: In short squadron strength will remain same as today(33-34 squadrons)but with much better fleet quality wise.

You forgot to Add ,

45 Mig-29K of the Indian Navy.

So, our total upgraded Mig-29 is really 100+.

That must be one out of a million,no body talked like that in here,but the "Confront and win the two enemy" came from the high rank officer in IA as i remembered.
