VinFast: Vietnam EV maker valued at more than Ford or GM

Two screenshot showing you talking about 48% of gdp is manufacturing and 20% of the economy is export. Who is the Mr Export here? Lol

Well, as the saying goes at least Evergrande the failed company had billions in real assets to sell but what does Vinfast have?
u guys almost had tencent at a trillion until terror fedual xi said he doesnt like big numbers in private hands

now apple alone worth half all chinese companies

.
are you viet? what are viet people saying about this

are they able to invest in this or is this only available to foreigner
Yes why? Viet people are calm. Some people like to bet, some not. Lots of buy properties or stocks or crypto. I think we are much like Chinese. The hobby to gamble.
Yes, VFS is traded on Nasdaq. I can buy it now direct from my iPhone from where I write this comment. In Vietnam I don’t know if possible to buy. I think yes. What you need is a trading account at a bank linked to a broker.

That’s geopolitics. I lost money in Chinese stocks when Ccp turned hostile against the west and against big independent domestic companies. Investors lost faith in the future of China.

No, from the financial data that makes no sense. VF is more valuable than BYD or VW, only second to Tesla. Ways too much. However the trend shows VF valuation will pass $100 billion.

Some explanations. stock market is somewhat like a casino where people bet on black and white and hope they will win even 50:50.

If many people rush to buy rice because there is shortage then rice will increase in price. Vietnam rice has risen by $100 per ton. Same like VF share. There is a very tight supply of VFS on the stock market.

Investors look for a story. Vietnam is the story. Will they invest in Russia or China? No, definitely not given geopolitics. Russia is dead. China has reached the peak.

VF beats yesterday market expectations. Multiple companies from Korea to China announce new factories in hightec sectors in Vietnam. VF announces new model to the US market with range beating previous estimate.
As I explained before, Vinfast is Vingroup pet project, and Vingroup have a lot of cash.

They bought a SPAC for 23 billion to just try to get Vinfast on Nasdaq, instead of going the traditional IPO route, that show you they are not about to let their stock tank.

People invest in stock market usually have 1 major mistake, thinking Profit dictate stock price, actually it's not, it's cash flow dictate stock price and valuation, the reason why people think that is because profit increases cashflow and usually company that is posting a loss will have cash flow issue. So with that much cash in the bank, and what they did in the industry, they are being valuated higher than it actually was. Simply because of its prospect.

And I suspect the bounce back we saw on Vinfast have something to do with Vingroup. That's what I would say at this point.

Spac is a good stuff. Offering more benefits than traditional IPO. Vinfast goes public within months instead of a year or longer. indeed the parent company Vingroup doesn’t need funds. VF has sufficient funds to finance the operations and expansion. The company expects to turn profitable in 2y.

Going public is just for advertising purposes. That makes the company more visible to the market that in turn resulting in more sales. Hopefully.

even tesla dominance is not guaranteed long term

I know too little about those companies to tell. What I understand is both rivian and xpeng don’t meet market expectations.

The problem with this and other EV makers is Tesla. On global market Tesla comes first then comes nothing. Xpeng market is China. There are too many EV makers in China. What I understand is nobody makes profit in China. instead, they make huge losses. Even VW, it sells EVs 1/3 cheaper than in Germany. That’s unsustainable.

Nobody makes profit in China? You sure about that?

Government works for the people not some shareholder sitting in US. If the governments deemed there is an antitrust issue, they will crackdown, it is normal. Profit should trickle back to the economy in China not Wallstreet.

Share prices goes up and down, it is just a big casino.

That’s how the market sees it. No, not a single Chinese carmakers make profits when selling cars. They make profits around cars. Leasing, loans, rentals, etc.

China has too many carmakers that is the problem. China is about the same situation in Germany after the war. When there were about 100 carmakers. Now after big eats small, strong beats weak, we come down to 6 or so.
VW, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Opel.
