Vietnam to build a high-speed train system

There're some rare places in Hanoi, quoted the price $250,000 or more for a square meter. I don't know how it compare to other nations. But it's not for everyone.

An apartment in 10 kilometers distance far from the center cost only $700/m2

So I will not say that Houses in Hanoi or Saigon expensive as Tokyo. Can tell me about Tokyo price @Nihonjin1051 ?
I know by my chat with Korean partners that, Korean price is 2 - 3 times expensive than Vietnam.
In average the Korean area of apartment is smaller than in Vietnam

Prices in Tokyo are exorbitantly high. Just let me give you a comparison -- my family own a house (fairly decent sized home) in a suburb in Sapporo -- its is 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a fairly decent size backyard. The property value of our house is -- around 54 million Yen -- in US Dollars it is around $450,000. Our house is located in a middle class subdivision.

Now, that 54 million yen is cheap, compared to how much people spend in Tokyo. Depending on what area of Tokyo, but a 2 bedroom condo -- with maybe 1400 square feet of space in prime realty lot --- costs around 182-185 million yen (in US Dollars thats around $1.5 Million). Maybe you can be lucky if you can find something as cheap as $1 million, but that's cheap and you'll be really lucky.

If you wanted to buy a house like ours in say Tokyo or suburbs around Tokyo --- you are looking to spend over $2 million USD. The houses in Tokyo are smaller in size due to the shear cost of space. If you want to have a large house, its best to live in the countryside or rural --- then just commute to work. To own a large house in Tokyo --- only millionaires or billionaires have that privilege.

Hainan is much convenient than Thailand for majority Chinese.
You can spend RMB and speak Chinese.
Of course the price is higher. There are so many rich Chinese tourist in Hainan
U are right. Frankly, I will only choose a dorm in international youth hostel if I go there. Lonely Planet has just published Hainan Guidebook(in Chinese), 300 pages only for this small island. Hainan is not just about beaches, but endless mountains, ancient towns, volcanos, culture of minority groups. I'll consider a deep journey there when the west ring HSR of Hainan is open(now only East Ring HSR).

In fact if the relation is not that bad between China and Vietnam, Vietnam has the chance to be a popular touring place for Chinese.
More close to China, less expensive, similar culture..

Thailand is full of chinese, number one tourist group in Thailand.
Bangkok is also another place that is overprice when it comes to housing.

prices in Hainan Island are crazy
considering how beautiful and relaxing the area is it is worth it. Fresh coconuts next to the beach in Sanya who would not want that to vacation. And mostly the expensive property is because so many people come from mainland to relax there.

Bangkok is a steam bath, 24 hours a day, most of the year. Even worse than Guangzhou-Shenzhen area which is to say a lot.

Actually, lots of families go to Thailand and they like it, but if you are just a man or a group of men, the locals will constantly offer you the "special services". Still, most of the special activities are concentrated in just a few spots, Bangkok has 3 of those spots, if you don't go there, then you don't see anything about that.

right @Nihonjin1051 ?

Nana plaza, soi cowboy and Patpong (in Bangkok).

Agreed, its almost crazy how even taxi drivers will try to refer you to a brothel or parlor for an extra tip. I was really dissauded by that aspect in Bangkok. It is open like that there -- to a fault.

Yes, Thailand is very friendly to tourist..
Tourist are well treated there..

I went to Phu Quoc a year ago, very nice, a lot of construction going on everywhere.

A bit humid since its in the gulf of thailand.
Thailand has many tourist packages that are very cheap for foreign tour groups.
Even for vietnamese is cheaper to go there in a tour than to travel in Vietnam according to the travel agencies.

I would prefer a self-driving journey!
The best beach I ever see is the Yalong bay.
Very beautiful and super nice..
And the hotel nearby is also super expensive..

If you want to experience true Thai culture and arts, i recommend staying away from Bangkok. I recommend you visit Ayuthaya, Lop Buri, Phitsanulok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai (my favorite city to visit !).

You are right. I've been reading on Tokyo's private railway a lot, that's why people commute for such a long distance every day. I like Keio Line most, red car with special engine sound(like do-ri-mi-fa-so). People dwell in 橫濱 or 千葉 where prices are acceptable.

View in Sanya is pretty good, especially in Yalong bay..
But hotels are also super expensive in Yalong bay...
150-500 USD per night, not cheap for majority Chinese..
Of course we have so many new rich guys who have a lot of money..

Personally I love beach, seafood and hot ladies!

Yeah, the system is rigged, everybody is into it. If you walk on Sukhumvit road you'll get 2 or 3 offers per block.

How is Phili compared to Thailand in that aspect? I know there is quite a lot going on there too.
