Vietnam Threatens to Expel Chinese Tourists After A Banana Vendor Gets Abused

A few unruly Chinese tourists may have ruined it for the rest of China that wants to travel and perhaps visit Vietnam one day.

A video of a few Chinese tourists behaving rudely towards a Vietnamese banana vendor has made its way online. The incident, which happened earlier this month in Da Nang, has provoked outrage.

Danang, shared the footage on his Facebook page. According to Tuoi Tre News, the tourists grabbed some bananas from the vendor, ate them and then threw the peels back into her bamboo basket.

The vendor asked her customers to pay for the bananas they had already eaten. They insisted on paying her in Chinese currency, which is illegal, and then attempted to bargain with her. After they heckled her and took her hat, the vendor caved in and took their money so that they would leave her alone.The Vietnamese government announced that they would not tolerate unruly Chinese tourists in Vietnam.


“[We have noticed that] some tourists behave badly, like talking loudly in public,” said Ngo Quang Vinh, head of the city’s Tourism Department, according to VnExpress

“Whoever comes here must follow Vietnamese law,” Nguyen Xuan Anh, a top official warned. The Vietnamese government will “not refrain from expelling people who behave badly.”

I have had this experience during my visit to shenzan and hong kong...chinise localites are very rude to the tourist. This was experienced by most of the our tour members.but it may be one of incident.

I have had this experience during my visit to shenzan and hong kong...chinise localites are very rude to the tourist.

I have never heared "shenzan",you must make a mistake.
And to HK,well,HK was a Britain colony before.Most people there discriminate any person who has darker skin color,so if you are black or brown hindus or brown viets,you surely will get this treatment.I think you should show your understanding for HK.HK is just a little child who was misled by Britain and spoiled by China.

That's because you don't understand the Vietnamese as well as Chinese do. Most Vietnamese can speak Chinese so it's simple to stage something like this. I just find the timing suspicious and seriously who would bother to film a person ordering from a street vendor from beginning to end and just happen to catch this act?

But true, some Chinese tourists are plain rude but so are other foreigners from civilized countries also.

Becareful of Vietnamese propaganda. Vietnamese can speak Chinese so they can easily fool westerners thinking it is a Chinese. Not saying all Chinese tourists are saint, but this one from Toi Tue news (a Viet tabloid at best) must be treated with a truck of salt

I can't make out with definite proof if the person involve is Chinese. You will not be able to prove this in court.
