According to the company they registered their design internationals which they claim their design first smart phone has flat design. At first I did not pay attention to their rediculous claims but after looked at the demo, the design does look premium. They also careful design the Android icons to differentiate with iPhone. You can youtube to see the phone in demo. While the phone is nice I stille prefer iPhone, not by the design but overall experience no phone can beat iPhone up to date despite some phones have better specs than iPhone but UI, UX and performance iPhone is still King of smart phone.

Use existing components like you said, supply chain in China and simply assembly their phones.

There is a huge difference. Other companies in Vietnam produce smartphones by the ODM method (original design manufacturer) under two forms. The first is ordering foreign partners, usually Chinese partners, to manufacture smartphones with their own brands. The second form is importing components and assembling under available designs.

Smartphones BKAV is researched, developed and manufactured under the OEM form (original equipment manufacturer), similar to the way of Sony, Apple, Samsung ... ie BKAV masters all stages of style design, mechanical design, electronics design, software ... This allows us to create unique products that can adapt to the constantly changing trends of technology.

In particular, we use the components as Sharp screen, Qualcomm chip or Toshiba memory... These are the components suppliers for Apple, Samsung ... Also, BKAV is the first manufacturer in Southeast Asia contracted directly to use advanced chips from Qualcomm.

One big difference is that BKAV focuses on the high-end segment, not the low-end one.

Yet only such design is not enough to survive..
the similar spec phones in China only cost 300 USD while this may cost you 500USD.
Develop phones is no longer a difficult thing. Survive in a competition market is hard.

Nah I'm flattered, might be sensible occasionally ... LOL! Hey this is a forum so you know what I mean right, so don't judge other posters by their posts here mate. What happened in the past was bad, very bad, the hate is understandable, and tolerable. So now just love to see all VN comrades progressing as they rightfully should be.

So again, back to the topic, congrats to this VN company for this remarkable breakthrough! It's a very competitive market though, so stay sharp young entrepreneurs like Nguyen Tu Quang and other comrades! My personal opinion favors Apple model, i.e. focused on platform/ecosystem construction, with very good SCM skills, focused on user stickiness rather than go into already cluttered and highly competitive industrial model. In short, innovation on business model, rather than industrial design. Investors always expect differentiation, leadership/monopoly (in a vertical segment big enough, like VN), and will reward whoever is successful in these regards.

The company does offer more value than other Chinese phone have similar specs. It develops its own eco system, BOS, a modification of Android lollipop which added more apps customize to local Vietnamese. That is a good start

Whether it survive or not depend on the local support but i think it will be doing Ok since up to date there is no smart phone localize support. Similar to Coc Coc browser which surpass google chrome as most used in Vietnam because it has features cater to Vietnamese such high speed download mp3, by pass proxy of website...etc.

I think for VN people`s income, 500 USD smartphones will not be easy to afford.
The rich people in VN may prefer a Iphone or Samsung, rather than a new start-up phone.
I hope this company could survive in the competition..

The Chinese companies fight in low end for many years, accumulating funds, managing supply chains, developing engineering capacity, etc..
And now they are offering quite competitive high end products with reasonable price.
A Mi4 phone with same spec as this phone cost 300USD, 40% less than it.

Also if you want someone to develop software for you, you need to prove your purchase power.
Or the developer will have no interest to develop anything.
You either need to pay or click the ADs..

Huawei sucks. I bought it and used it. It lasted two days and I had to return the product.

Huawei is a piece of 5shit dude. Obviously, you have never used the phone specifically the honor 6 plus. It's firmware is garbage. I had to return that garbage phone after 2 days of using it.

Lool at least Huawei knows that for it's smartphones to remain competitive, it needs to keep sourcing most of its crucial parts from Japan. Well done Huawei, that's what i like about businessesmen/investors, they don't care about what their ultra nationalistic folks think. They do what they think is best for their company.

Iphone made in China does not mean its Chinese phone. Toyota made in Thailand car is not Thai car as toyota has production bases in U.S too. Rich country exploit labors in poor country is common sense. IPhone, toyota, today made in china future can be made in Vietnam or even Cambodia, or Myanmar where benefits Apple and Toyota.
