There are no respect smart phone OEM in SEA.
Mostly bought from Shenzhen and stick their own brand and sell a low price.
So such a company could get the first 801 is no problem..
Also 801 is pretty enough for daily usage..

the company says Bkav is the first in SE Asia to have Snapdragon 801. so I guess Qualcomm has not offered the latest Chips to Vietnam and other countries yet.

You might be right on that. Regardless though, still a pretty powerful upper mid-range phone. In addition, 3GB of ram is a very good thing for multi-task users. I'm very glad for Vietnam

But the components industry of Japan is pretty good...

Yes, well Japan has to adapt to the supply chain model. If you know what i mean. Besides, most of the component parts of major Chinese phone brands are actually made in Japan. Yes?

Now the smart phone age comes and Japanese phone brands are in panic..
But the components industry of Japan is pretty good...

I agree that Sony's mobile phone division is a bit lackluster at present time. However, The Sony Experia Z3+ is said to be a very good phone.

Another brand that is not so popular here in the 'states but is quite popular in Japan is NTT Docomo by FUJITSU. In fact the new phone they released has an innovative Iris-scanning technology.

The display screen, most high end display screen are made in Japan.
Memory and other chips, usually made in Japan or Korea
Usually the high end components are made in Japan or Korea.
The lower end usually made in Japan..

Well it must be impressive since Huawei is increasing 30% stake in component purchasing in Japan. Btw, Huawei's R&D center is now in Yokohama , Japan, BTW.

Actually these kind of top phones are pretty similar in spec..
Almost all 810 chip, 3G RAM, Full HD display screen, etc..
And we usually only care phones around 350-500 USD..
Phones in this range can already offer awesome experience but not so expensive..

Huawei phones are very popular in China.
It replace a lot of market share of Samsung and Iphone..
I am using Huawei Honor 6, which is an awesome phone with very reasonable price and good performance.

Huawei is actually providing much equipment to Japanese network operator like DoMoCo and softbank, etc..
Mobile phone is not something Huawei focusing..

I just want to first say that I didn't mean any offense on the nationalism question. Hope you didn't it as such.

I wholeheartedly disagree with you about Samsung. Especially about higher end Samsung phones. The Note 4 is an incredibly high end device for example. I say that as an owner.

The Note 4 and Galaxy S6 are quality high end phones. Although the S6 (in my opinion) has taken a step back due to lack of SD card reader and user replaceable battery.

We will just have to agree to disagree on Samsung

Apple is just a notch below cult level status. I think Apple could announce a circle was actually a square and some fans people would believe it.

I say Apple Iphone is the best, NOT because it has the best quality, best performance, nor best marketing tactic but it is one of the few "total package" ecosystem phone. The other one is Google Nexus but its design, quality, and performance is far from an Iphone. Apple did a great job controlling the fate of their phone with a huge IOS ecosystem.

Apple does have a good ecosystem, I agree with you. Obviously if one is already in that system, or plans to be in that system, it makes sense to get an iPhone.
