I think VN is doing the right thing. 6 KilO calss submarines with Nuke tipped missiles will get the panties of the Chinese bully in a twist.

Apparently, someone needs to move from always "neutral" to being "sometimes smart".

besides, very few people in Vietnam know nuclear physics, radiation hydrodynamics, shock theory or have a PhD in astronomy (the only place to learn those 3 things), which is necessary for building a nuclear bomb.

Vietnam is a NPT signatory, thus it cannot develop nukes legally.

NPT is more to counter Poliferation than to check building of bombs. Vietnam must be ecouraged to go nuclear to keep the regional bully like China in check.

As far as I know,Pakistan techniques of enrich uranium ( including centrifuge) didn't come from china .pakistan nuclear power relied mainly on their expert own effort
