Vietnam, India Join to Face China

Vietnamese exports...

rice, catfish. What did I miss?

Vietnam export a fair percentage of manufactured goods. Among over 100 billions of 2011 export turnover, only 25 billions is attributed to agricultural - fishery - forestry products. The remaining are mostly manufactured products.

We are not ready to face china yet. We need to diffuse tensions and keep working to make our country strong. The day we become equal to china, then we can do something about facing off with them. Till then, work work and work.

It is really shameful that Your "all-weather-friend" Pakistan can't welcome you with sizzling hot Pork dish every time you visit them. Since Pork is haram is Islam.
You are trying to milk something that isn't there. Pork is considered dirty, so Muslim don't eat it. That doesn't mean they will put non-Muslims in jail for 7 years for eating pork. hindus consider cows sacred, so you are actually offended and angry when Vietnamese slurp down their delicious national dish -- pho.

Vietnamese love to eat / slaughter cows so much they protest China using a picture of cutting a cow's tongue! When Vietnamese see a cow, they want to slaughter it or cut its tongue off. Cow's tongue is a delicacy. Now that must be very hard to stomach for Vietnam's new "friend."

So we must join together.
We are only together to fight bad bully.
You want to ally with somebody who hates your pho and wants to put you in jail for 7 years?

It's not that india doesn't have any wise and benevolent people at all. It's just that you are in the minority.

Sino even burma banned beef at one stage did you know that? and it is not only hindus but jains and buddhist :agree:

Vietnam PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng hailed the fine developments of the strategic partnership between Việt Nam and India while receiving Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Human Resource Development E. Ahamed in Hà Nội on January 6.

Mr. E. Ahamed is now in Việt Nam to attend the 40th anniversary of Việt Nam-India diplomatic ties and the 5th anniversary of the Việt Nam-India strategic partnership.

Việt Nam attaches importance to consolidating and enhancing the relations with India, affirmed the Vietnamese Government chief.

He also hoped that both sides would boost the implementation of inked agreements and launch new cooperative programs in terms of economics, trade and investment.

PM Dũng also reiterated that Việt Nam is consistent with supporting India’s “Look East” policy and ready to help India strengthen cooperation with ASEAN member states.

The Indian Minister of State expected that Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Indian businesses to do long-term investment in Việt Nam.

He hoped that both sides to beef up exchange of delegations at all levels to strengthen the friendship, mutual confidence and understanding between the two nations.

I keep hearing this again and again.
Cultures use manufactured taboos to keep things ideal.Very few cultures now eat Cats and Dogs.
Hindus do not eat cows for the same reason most of us don't eat cats and dogs. religious constructs are there for this purpose.

Now banning cow slaughter doesn't mean an absolute ban. you just have to get a legal permit to operate a cow slaughter house and suitability of cow for this purpose is also determined. This basically means that one cannot kill cows for meat just like a goat or hen. It's like regulation.
now the & year term is only for people who does this without authorization which constitutes to breaking a law like selling smuggled goods.
This effectively means cow is given a status of exotic and endangered animals and birds (tiger, peacock etc.,) In most parts of the world you'd get jailed for killing one or the other animal or bird.

So much for your empty rhetoric.

Actually, you go to jail for 7 years for eating beef, and police can raid on mere suspicion.

MP law: 7 yrs in jail for eating beef, cops can raid on mere suspicion - Indian Express

Cow Slaughter Is Banned In MP, 7 Year Jail, If Convicted | Indian Law

Understand the law. a bit more stringent than other states but still people can buy legal stuff. The idea is to stop cow slaughter for meat exclusively. I am sure the act would be much clearer than this.
Apart from MP., Other states conform to what i mentioned earlier and there are states where no such law exists.

If Pakistan can be China's "All-Weather-Friend" despite of Pork, then for the very same reason Vietnam can be very good friend of India. And it seems you have forgotten about India-Russia friendship despite the "beef factor".

And about the Cow Slaughter Law you must know the fact before you talk about it. Our Vietnamese friend can enjoy the Goa beach with world famous Indian dish of Beef Vindaloo

It's funny to see that you stupidly trying bring "beef factor" to cause friction but you must remember the India-Russia friendship before talking about India-Vietnam relation.

The traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and India have developed well over the years, and Vietnam supports India’s Look East policy.

State President Truong Tan Sang made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on July 18 for Rajiv K.Bathia, Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), the think-tank of the Indian foreign ministry.

He thanked India for providing its official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam and noted that bilateral trade ties are growing considerably, but are still yet to meet their full potential.

He expressed his belief that the upcoming launch of a direct air route between Hanoi and New Delhi will help boost bilateral trade and cultural cooperation.

Bathia briefed President Sang on the result of a recent seminar on the Vietnam-India strategic partnership in Hanoi, and said Indian scholars and researchers highly valued the partnership with Vietnam.

He said following the seminar the Indian scholars will work with their Vietnamese counterparts to publish research projects on Vietnam-India relations. He asked for support from the Vietnamese government in completing the work.

The diplomat thanked Vietnam’s support for India in regional and international forums, and hoped Vietnam will facilitate Indian businesses’ operations in the country.
