Vietnam declares the Wuhan virus as class A epidemic

In my view you should not export the face mask. Rather stockpiled it dor domestic use.

No need to stockpile, the rent for the warehouse is not worth the effort, maybe North of Hue, but not in the south like Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville.

Cambodia too hot for virus

Khorn Savi | Publication date 29 January 2020 | 22:58 ICT

Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng said on Wednesday that the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) can be transmitted between people, but it is unlikely it will spread here given Cambodia’s hot climate.

Speaking to The Post, Bun Heng said the coronavirus cannot survive in temperatures higher than 30C, and hence, people-to-people infections are unlikely here.

Chim Pheaktra, a former employee at Pasteur Institute, told The Post on Wednesday that wearing a mask does not protect one completely against the virus given its size.

The virus is about 0.125 micrometres in size, which is smaller than bacteria.

Moreover, Pheaktra said Cambodians don’t need to wear a mask because temperatures here do not allow the virus to survive.

He said the virus only thrives in temperatures below 20C. In hotter climates, it can only be transmitted when a person comes into very close contact (less than 1m) with a carrier without wearing any protective gear.

“Infections are unlikely here because our country is just too hot. Only one case has been reported so far in the Kingdom, so people that are not living in areas where the virus has been reported don’t need to wear a mask.”

By the way, here a tip from North Korea: when there is first symptom of flu, going to the hot steam sauna can cure from the common flu. Just stay inside for half an hour, and with maximum steam temperature (at least 60 degrees centigrade). Repeat the session twice a day if needed. It works for me, every winter! No need of any medication.

I think u should buy some medical equipments like N95 mask, dry hand washing fluid for ur family, kids always need them during the epidemic.

@Viet @KAL-EL I dont know where EU-US buy medical equipment, but in VN, we have to buy at least 50% the materials from CN, but CN is running out of material for medical equipment now, so seem like VN only can produce a liitle Med equip for export now.
In Germany you can buy face masks in every Apotheke (drug store). Medicine can only be bought when prescribed by doctors.

Okay, but where do the drug store buy masks ?? From factories in CN and VN ??

If from CN and VN, then we r running out of materials for making med equip now.

Germany buys face masks from the US and China.
Problem is China can’t meet the exploding demands of masks. Simple made mask can only be used one or two days. Imagine you need 1.4 billion masks per day. worse, chinese factories can’t meet exploding demand of protective suits.

Chinese government estimates 100,000 protective suits are needed per day alone in Hubei province, far exceeding the production capacity of 30,000 units per day.

Factories are closed at a fast rate. China is heading to a economics disaster.

Cos Germany buys face masks from the US and China, then u should prepare to get some mask before triple price cos CN-VN running out of materials making Med equip.

CN Chicken carrying H5N1 also die due to bird flu now, seem like the epidemic will last quite long

Yes hopefully the chinese can learn a lesson. They can’t hide a epidemic for long. Not bad either if they ease their arrogance and aggression too.

Vietnam has 38 factories that can produce 3-layer face masks with a total capacity of 1.2 million masks per day. In addition there are two special factories that can produce 32,000 units of high protective N95 face masks per day.

Vietnam offers help to China, but its not clear whether our neighbor accepts the offer.

Please stop bragging and propagate false information. The key component for medical-grade face mark (anti-virus membrane) are imported from China (70%). Vietnam still cannot produce it. The remaining 30% are from various countries, like Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Egypt, Korea, Japan, Europe.

What bragging? What fake information?

the article you posted reads:

According to data of the Ministry of Health, there are 38 enterprises producing medical masks, including about 11 large-scale production units with a production capacity of 1,245,000 pieces / day.

Some companies such as Dong Xuan Knitting Company can increase production 6 times if necessary, from 50k to 300k masks.

Some components are imported, but is that something unusual for you?

Masks will be sent at the request of the Hong Kong Red Cross, which is one of PMI's partners since supplies are running low, and (face masks are) currently difficult to obtain,

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) will send 10 thousand N95 masks to Hong Kong to curb the spread of the new coronavirus (2019-nCov) that triggered outbreaks in parts of China and spread to several countries.

"Masks will be sent at the request of the Hong Kong Red Cross, which is one of PMI's partners since supplies are running low, and (face masks are) currently difficult to obtain," PMI Secretary General Sudirman Said remarked on Saturday.

He also spoke of the PMI in 34 provinces having intensified preparedness as a precautionary measure against the spread of the coronavirus, especially in districts and cities bordering neighboring countries. Furthermore, campaigns that focus on preventing the transmission of coronavirus have been intensified.

Furthermore, the PMI has stepped up coordination and cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to monitor developments in connection with the spread of the coronavirus.

On Friday (Jan 31), the PMI officials coordinated with the organizers of the Association of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 52 nations to come up with joint steps as a precautionary measure against the spread of the coronavirus infection.

"The PMI continues to support the government's efforts to mitigate risk by deploying command post personnel and volunteers. Next week, a coordination meeting will also be held with local PMI officers from provinces and districts, with the highest risk," Said added. I think Vietnam can easily scale up production, from 420 million masks to at least 1 billion masks per year if necessary even more.
What we need are more machineries and automation.

There is a news today: Vietnam will evacuate citizens from China. Field hospitals will be built within 2 weeks. I believe we copy the chinese style a bit.

Mong Cai city. First field hospital with 500 beds is opened to treat the patients.
A bit overkill. We haven’t many infections.
