I would suggest to understand how modern missile works..
The missile radar can see only around 30KM
Before missile can acquire the target, it need to be guided.
If you don`t have a guide system or plane, the missile range is pretty low...
200km max range is most ideal, in real war, it is much less..

Fire-and-forget is a type of missile guidance which does not require further guidance after launch such as illumination of the target or wire guidance, and can hit its target without the launcher being in line-of-sight of the target. This is an important property for a guided weapon to have, since a person or vehicle that lingers near the target to guide the missile (using, for instance, a laser designator) is vulnerable to attack and unable to carry out other tasks.

Generally, information about the target is programmed into the missile just prior to launch. This can include coordinates, radar measurements (including velocity), or an IR image of the target. After it is fired, the missile guides itself by some combination of gyroscopes and accelerometers, GPS, organic radar, and infrared optics. Some systems offer the option of either continued input from the launch platform or fire-and-forget.

any payload of any medium range rocket is still considered quite small, for your information.

Disable the Vietnam Navy and air force, disable its capacity in SCS is sufficient..

For longest range of coastal defense system : 550 km - warhead 1 ton
Bastion K300-P system : 300 km with Brahmos-alike missile
Coastal defense mobile system : Bal-E : 130 km with original KH-35 missiles and 260km with improved Kh-35 missiles.
Molniya boats same as Bal-E but it's a missile boat.

Limited Su27, Su30, and large quantity of Su-22 with air-to-surface ability could reach the middle of SCS.

@Carlosa : shared us about a secret project to develop a new antiship missiles with range 500-600km. He said that's a joint venture between Vietnam and Russia.

Yes, Vn with the help of Russian engineers (working as subcontractors, no official connection with Russia) is increasing the range of the KH-35 to 500-600 km (depending on altitude).

Fire and forget is usually for air-air missile,as most radar-guided air-air missile has effective range of 30Km
For longer distance missile, fire and forget will only lose your target..
If you are to attack a fixed position target like harbor, you can program its location inside missile.
But for a mobile target like fleet, you need to update the target before missile can find itself..
Long range radar is usually for air-plane,
sub need to come to surface, making it a normal ship with sight range of 30KM
Plane is the best platform to guide the missile, Yet it need to survive the anti-air missile from 052 series..

Let say, even DF-21 has payload 600 or better 1000 kg, it's nothing to attack land targets.

We have LD-2000 CIWS, HQ-17, FM-90 SAM specifically to counter cruise missile intended to intrude into Chinese territories to create havoc.

The type 56 is bigger and its a multirole corvette, the Molniya class is essentially an anti ship corvette for hit and run attacks of vulnerable targets during wartime.

The Molniya class is classified as a light corvette.
