one thing had ruled viets
nothing compared to Indian bhartis shooting poor BD girls and Kashmir kids, at least we are shooting those illegal finishing male viets
one thing had ruled viets
There are few options for vietnam
1)if they are serious about territory claims then they need to increase defense purchases for 4-5 years to fill the gap.
get western tech, its much better than chinese one and make good relations with U.S as they are going to station half of their navy in asia pacific. But dont be a football in hand of U.S and keep talking with china while buying more time.
2)if viets are not serious then they should accept their hegemony.we read famous quote that "if you cant beat them then join them".Chinese will surely leave few things for you and they are not going to occupy every inch of sea.
We not do both the ways, we will negotiate with China to get back Hoang Sa Islands (Paracel Islands) peacefully, even we have to continue to wait a thousand years from now ...
Vietnam latest news - Thanh Nien Daily | PM affirms Vietnam's sovereignty over Paracel
Viets are whining on the coral reef now
till that china will consume whole oil of sea
so keep talking
More than a thousand years ago, we had thousand-year fights to get back Đại Việt's independence fully. Nowaday we continue to struggle peacefully to get back Hoang Sa Islands (Paracel), even we have to wait a thousand years from now ...
"Đại Việt" or "Great Viet" is the former name Vietnam today.
"Kinh" or "Viet" is ethnic majority in Vietnam.
I think you don't know the Battle of Bach Dang River in 938, because if you know it you did not say that.

Welcome to wait. You know what you get if you fight China for the past thousand years: only ruins.
I do not understand those vn guys always list one or two victories and remember them forever.
However, you forget you vn is simply a small satellite "country" that has to pay tributes to China every year for most of the past two thousand years.
If you want to fight China again, well, China is willing to help you with that.
Since prehistory, the Han nation was built borg style, beat a new ethnic group and absorb, sometimes opposite happened too, get beaten and then absorb, like the Manchus. The Mongol case is still ongoing and Tibet and Xinjiang Turkics cases started only in 1950's. So it looks like Dai Viets and Koreans are two cases where the Han failed, and are facing stiff resistance. But North Korea is half gone. I know of ethnic Koreans from China, selling Korean style Chinese food in the US, that have apparently lost most of their unique Korean-ness and consider themselves more Chinese than Koreans.
The difference in the Indian union is that it allows more room for unique-ness of ethno-linguistic groups and is more of a collection of many different groups, rather than being a part of a more or less mono-lithic Han, except when people have adopted Abrahamic religion, who are considered as aggressive predatory traitors and irredeemable.
I view the future union of smaller states as collection of different ethno-linguistic groups with their own history, who will choose to unite to face common threats, so they can resist the borg style absorption. Resistance is not futile, when a proper strategy is in place.
