Video Gamers report in!

Upwards of $4,000. The GPU alone cost 1,300. I9-9900k 500. AE-9 was 350. The RAM 200. PSU 270. Mobo 270. Fans 250 for the set. It adds up quick:sick:.

I kept the 2070 Super. Even it's retail value is 500.

anyone playing RDR2 on PC ? What a monster, this thing is a rig destroyer.

probably pick it on a sale next year, hopefully they'd have patched it by then too.

No issues here. I've heard the Steam version has optimization issues and older patches, but on Epic where I'm playing it's smooth. Ultra settings, constant 100+ fps. GPU temp under load 54C max. Full lighting, shadows, AA, the works.

I did an upgrade from Core i5 to AMD Threadripper 2920x. processor, mobo, psu, pain in the arse memory, cpu cooler, m.2 nvme and graphics for ~£1600

My case is (Cooler Master HAF932) over a decade old but it will last a lifetime. No need to upgrade the monitor its 34" ultrawide ~4K not as responsive or a very high refresh rate but can't complain it 34" Ultrawide. Keyboard is Logitech G910 mouse is some Corsair one.

Hows the gaming performance of the Threadripper? I've heard good things about their workstation performance, but mixed reviews on their gaming capabilities versus legacy i7. Your experience?

I have the 12 core ThreadRipper so the bottlenecking issues are not as severe as the newer multicore CPU's and you can use software to maximise performance even further! I played FarCry 3/4 Primal and GTA5. I think the memory in tandem with high speed m.2 has been a real enabler. But 4 core processors are enough for gaming and give the best performance but it would be nice if a software could enable all CPU cores to function then the performance would be unimaginable.

where can i report @Netherbird for posting tech p*o*r*n :(

damit ... after 3 kids one have to think before getting a new rig ... mine is way too overdue this time it's going to be AMD

I just play Dark Souls, Asassins Creed, DBFZ these days. I don't have much time these days though. Can't justify a massive upgrade yet.

Really excited for Age of Empires 4.

Other than that, I have a Switch which is fun.

i almost entirely play dota2 but i have a huge steam library and i would love to play games like hitman2, tomb raider etc which i stopped playing after selling my previous rig

I hate gaming, but since 2 days, quite depressed, thinking to start gaming but then, it is a time waste
