WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Vice President Kamala Harris could travel to Vietnam and Singapore in August, even as details of such a trip are not final yet, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday.

The coronavirus pandemic is likely to be on Harris’ agenda, the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Harris recently visited Mexico https://www.reuters.com/world/ameri...-border-amid-criticism-republicans-2021-06-25 and Guatemala with the aim of lowering migration from the region. During her trip she focused on issues such as economic development, food insecurity and women’s issues.

A curious question wanted to ask, how is USA perceived by average Vietnamese people today?

Harris is the de facto decision maker as Biden is about to see his creator.

This is just after US Defense Secretary visit of Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam.

Oh no.... bad omen for the region. FK off these jinx.

We believe in equality. We treat the Americans no difference to other be from Canada, Singapore or Eskimos. If you mean the war that’s something from the past.

Considering what the USA did to N Vietnam during the war doing mass bombings and attacking on Civilians to force them to submit, I don't expect the leadership which was alive in that era to just submit to USA like S Vietnam did.

In modern history of Vietnam, China harm Vietnam least, lesser than Korean, Japan or USA.

Now too many propaganda against China.

China is a natural friend of Vietnam if only the South Vietnamese regime remnants would stop their irrational hostility. Currently the governments are starting to rebuild the relationship. Hopefully CPV begins to crack down on anti-Chinese racism.

Why can't the Confucian cultural circle stop hurting and slandering each other?

Contributed the most, weaponry, training, govern experience, party affairs..etc.

Guess how many Vietnamese Japan killed in 1945 alone?

2 million.

It is so surprising Vietnamese NEVER hate Japan.

There was consequencies of flooding and famina.

from 1937 to 1945, approximately 3.9 million Chinese were killed, mostly civilians, as a direct result of the Japanese .

Lets face the fact. When US was raining agent orange in Vietnam like rain, Vietnam was still well fed. The crops were still growing. Agent orange cannot even do that much in Vietnam tropical environment.

Meanwhile there was hardly any disaster in 1945 and the Japanese famine occur around Nam Dinh -- the MOST fertile land in Vietnam.

No flood or any disaster can impede plant growth in Nam Dinh ok.....

How the FCK you are going to explain.

The causes of famines in 1944 - 1945, according to writers who lived through this period, like To Hoai, were:

1- Flood in the North of Vietnam in 1944, leading to very low harvest in 1944
2. Seize of rice by Japanese army for military use
3. No transportation from the South to the North: all transportation means, either rail, truck or ships, were seized by the Japanese army for military use, aside from the facts that bridges and road were generally in poor condition due to various factors, like being bombed by American planes which targeted Japanese, but mostly killed commoners.

Direct or indirect, the famine which killed almost 2 millions in the North, was caused by the Japanese.
