Vettel Wins F1 World Championship For Red Bull Racing Double
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing based in Milton Keynes have has won the Formula One driver's championship 2011, making it a double having won the constructor's championship last weekend in Brazil.
Last year it was Brackley based Brawn GP with Jenson Button, Brawn went on to became Mercedes GP this year and Jenson went off to McLaren.
Motorsport is a vital high tech industry and tourist attraction to the Towcester area and the win has to be good news for the area.
As Martin Brundle said on BBC 1 television coverage from Abu Dhabi, "They'll be buying kitchens and cars in Milton Keynes."
Of course many people working for Red Bull Racing live in South Northants so it has to very good for the local economy and next year sees the new pit and paddock opening at Silverstone.
Congratulations to everyone involved in Formula One - the longest season and right down to the wire, with Sebastian Vettel only leading the drivers' world championship table on the last few laps of the final race, the only time it actually mattered.
