Sahara Force India drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon grabbed seventh and eighth positions respectively in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday as the team finished fourth in the constructors standings.

The top eight finish meant the team got 10 points from the race – six for Perez and four for Ocon and thereby cemented their position. With 187 points from the 20 races, this was Force India’s most successful season on the F1 circuit.

The Silverstone-based team finished behind Mercedes (668), Ferrari (522) and Red Bull Racing (368) in the Constructor’s Championship.

Among the drivers, Perez finished seventh overall with 100 points while Ocon was eighth with 87 points. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes, who has already won the championships, secured 363 points.

2017 was probably one of the most exciting seasons for Force India fans.
Not only did they finish a strong 4th in Constructors, the competition between the two drivers gave us some great F1 drama.

Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon! They dont sound Indian names to me. Are these guys Indians?

Of course not. Drivers are hardly related to the Constructor's country. This is F1. Likewise, two Indians drove for non-Indian teams.

The Indian thing about Force India are the Indian license and a few sponsors. The flag shown for Force India is the tricolour.

They'll be changing the name soon (maybe 2019) for business reasons since the Indian GP remains cancelled and thus more Indian brands are not sponsoring them.

Force India also has possibly the lowest budget and yet they screw everyone except the big three invincible teams.
Hispanics.
Ocon is French and really young and will drive for a big team in the future. He's amazing.

Names are Hispanics. (Arslan was talking of names) to whom I replied.

Esteban is typical Spanish name:

Best of the radio from Abu Dhabi.
Alonso had a bad time this year and is preparing for 2018 with a better engine.
