KARACHI: Veteran actor Qazi Wajid, 74, passed away in Karachi after brief illness, Geo News reported.

He was admitted to a private hospital on Saturday.

Qazi Wajid has worked in numerous TV dramas and was a household name. He joined Radio Pakistan in 1956 as a child artiste and have been associated with the medium ever since.

Born in 1944 in Gwalior, India, he migrated to Pakistan after partition with his family and settled in Karachi, where his father was allotted a quarter at Martin Road.

Veteran actor Qazi Wajid passed away on Sunday, DawnNewsreported.

According to DawnNews the 87-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital late last night.

Wajid was one of one of the pioneers of Pakistan's radio industry. After remaining associated with the industry for 25 years, Wajid decided to switch careers and joined television.

The veteran actor was also honoured with a Pride of Performance Award in 1988 by the Government of Pakistan.

Ohh those were the days when family life was soo beautiful. Now things are not just same man. TV actually had positive message for people and not just Masonic brainwashing like today.
