I think the appointment is equal to sidelining because ambassador-at-large means an ambassador with special duties not appointed to a particular country. However, I may be wrong in understanding.

Guys, I think this is problem with illeterate people. Kindly read the position on which the person is appointed for. The position is "Ambassador at Large for Foreign Investment". I am disappointed that our nation dont understand the difference between position of a diplomat and an investor. FOr the position of investor profile of a person belonging to business community is the most ideal one whereas for position of a diplomat of Ambassdor to US you need experience in diplomacy.

Jahangir Siddiqui was previously appointed on a position of which he has no experience and now he is appointed at a position of which he has experience of his life. Furthermore, the position is honourary it means that there are 99% chances that he will not have any income from the position.

Furthermore, lets be realistic. Jahangir Siddiqui is not a small business group and due to internal politics of Pakistan this family was humiliated so for me this move is to compensate the mistake of Nawaz Sharief regime and also to provide an honorary exit to big industrial group of Pakistan which can benefit us as well.

It is a honorary title and nothing more. But I am disappointed because he used the same SECP chairman that was hiding Nawaz's company details to keep his case away from NAB.

You are grossly mistaken on this front. Firstly JS Group is not an industrial group it is a financial services group. The word JS is associated with pump and dump on the stock market. It is not a respectable name in anyway. They have a pending cases against Azgard9 that they have desperately tried to bury using the SECP chairman Zafar Hijaz. (insider trading and trying to wrestle its control from its owners through unfair means). JS Group also has a case filed by its investors against a finder's fee payout to AJS that was unheard of in Pakistan and there is a lot more. Albeit honorary, this is not a good move. AJS is also a director in Airblue owned by SKA.

common now, accept this with open heart as a U-Turn instead of name calling others. a persona non grata for any position should be persona non grata for any similar position. So, give us some of his qualities that we may have missed that are best suited for this position, just calling everyone illiterate doesn't make you a scientist.
