Utility of JH7 for PAF

PAF has evaluated JH-7's and were not impressed with them. Dont you think that buying more used mirages would be better keeping in mind existing facilities.
As per @ Fatman17 the EAF mirages are strictly for spares.

Hi,

Tactically J20 is not the right aircraft for the Paf at this time---.

Pakistan needs something less expensive---something that does not hurt the pocket---something when shot down can be easily be replacable without hurting the budget---.

Jh7A is that least expensive option---when I talk about the JH7A---I am actually talking about the SU34---J16---J11---and I have stated that many a times---but blind will stay blind and deaf will stay deaf---.

The only reason I come back to the JH7A is that is the only aircraft available---non of the other aircrafts are available to pakistan---. If any aircraft is available---it is 4-6 years away to get---.

So---would you people be talking about what is not available to you---.

You know how many graduates with a masters degree want a job in the pak railways as a lineman---the very basic labor job---in thousands----why---because executive jobs are not available to them---.

So---in real life---if with all that education---you cannot get what you want and settle for the least likeable job---then what happens to you when it comes to the defense & protection of the nation---.

Why are you being deceitful to your nation at it time of need for its salvation---?
Tactically J-20 would be a game changer however maintenance would very challenging. J-20 would open up doors for western stealth aircraft specially F-35A's. Though this is another topic.

If PAF wants a Bomb Truck then why did PAF decide to modify the A5 Fantan for dogfights. So the argument of JH7's becomes pointless.

What PAF would like to have is an aircraft design that can be further upgraded for at least 20 more years. This indicates that Project AZM is the first priority hence a Stealth Platform would be ideal. If we look back at what the French Rafale brings to the table is a design that can be further improved to a more stealthy aircraft with far less efforts in time and money. Now on the other hand Boeing has been working on a similar strategy and has developed various solutions for both F-15 and F-18's. Both these aircraft are fraction of the cost of F-35 hence they are still popular among those countries like South Korea, Australia and Canada. Canada would not procure any more aircraft from USA hence they have a problem selecting an ideal aircraft (most likely contender would be EFT).

If PAF plays her cards right then PAF may acquire F-15E in limited numbers and get them upgraded through Boeing to a similar configuration that KSA and Singapore have. Somehow this is not being done by PAF rather PAF wants to procure the big ticket F-35 or J-20.

Hi

With plaaf ready to sell off jh7’s
Paf can get them dirt cheap but possibly no kick backs.

Just remember a 1000 dollar rifle kills the same as a 25000 dollar rifle when the target is in the range
I am no aviation expert ..but i wonder what will be the cost of overhauling and operations ..f7 use to need not verhauoing everyother day..

No one modified Ai5s for dogfights. The short ranged AAMs on it were just for last resort defense.

Not the ones that have been upgraded (Horus). Those are equivalent to the PAF's ROSE aircraft.
Let us wait and see. Idont think we are getting any Horus M3/5s. This remains my thought so could be completely wrong.
