The Chief of Staff of the Afghan National Army General Qadam Shah Shaheem said Saturday that the Afghan government prefers other options to resolve the cross-border shelling along the Durand Line.

...

He said the Ministry of Defense has assessed the Pakistani military incursions in Nangarhar, involving rocket attack and use of tanks on Lalpur district.

...

However, he said the use of army would be the last option to respond to the military aggressions along with the Durand Line if other options did not yield any positive result to halt the incursions.

....

According to the local officials, the clashes among the Afghan and Pakistani border forces erupted following heavy shelling by the Pakistani forces which forced the Afghan Border Police forces to respond.

Out of curiosity i checked out Afghan media for the first time today .

Their media has an obsession with Pakistan . Out of 10 political debates an average 5-6 of those debates were on Pakistan.

Hey man I just stopped watching a few months ago -- the contrast is that there is virtually no mention of Afghanistan in Pakistani media.

They seem to bitch and moan on those debates of how Pakistan has ruined their country . The only ones i see are the pashto ones because that's my mother tongue . I bet the Dari News/debates are even more bitchy .

Mmm, I don't understand Pashto but can get a git -- surprisingly I think the Pusho debates seem more high pitched than the Dari debates. It's probably just my lack of understanding of Pashto - or my expectation that Pashtuns will be softer on Pakistan. But it would be an interesting comparison by someone who knows both well and is neutral

I cant understand Dari because its different to Pashto . The Pashto debates are Anti - Pakistan . Every debate on their channel surrounds around how Pakistan is not doing enough for them and how PK is this big evil country trying to take everything away from them .How Afghanistan is '' Ghairatmand '' and PK is '' Beghairat '' Many of the times the guests would say that how PK has 60 years history and Afghanistan has 5000 years of history .

I have interacted with afghans (pashto speaking) and i have one dari speaking friend here in Malaysia. The Dari speaking guy is just anti- Pakistan to the core but wouldn't dare say anything to my face.

There is a hotline between the DGMO of both countries and this needs to activated to stop this border skirmishes.
Border between us needs to be used for commerce and not bombarding each other.

As an FYI, ANA is not conscript, its a professional army, you post sounded more like a rant from a keyboard warrior sitting in the states rather an objective observer on the ground who has to live with the consequences of hostilities between Afghanistan an Pakistan.

you seem like an Afghan. So, what are afghans thinking. Your leadership seems to be ignorant of the fact that india cant be your friend. they are ignorant of the fact that we as Pakistanis honour mahmood ghaznavi, abdali and ghauri. We only dont want a pro india afghanistan because it does not make any sense when we paid so much for Afghanistan during soviet invasion, then afghans go indian way. We can only wish that sanity prevails and Afghanistan and Pakistan live as brotherly MUSLIM states and strengthen each other rather than becoming a pawn in the hand of india to work against Pakistan.

Is he threatening war on us? Has Afghanistan lost their mind. Doesn't he know that we are at the ends of our patience andbif he dares to set boots on our soil not even the superpowers will be able to pressure us to not retaliate. Only two conclusions can be derived from this absured statement. One is that he really did sasta nasha, and is High as a kite. Second is that he has no military experience whatsoever and is a little less sensible than the keyboard warriors of bharat rakshak....

Senseless aggressive statements that if brought to action will be the doom of his 5000 year old country. Afghanistan needs to shut its mouth and take back districts lost to the Taliban.

1. Blaming Pakistan for everything is not right .

2. Destruction of Afghanistan is due to afghan's themselves not Pakistan as they have never been united .

3. Many Afghans go to Schools , Colleges , hospitals in Pakistan why don't they go to any other neighbouring country if they hate Pakistan?

4. Blaming everything on ISI even for minute things .

5. Afghans should sit down and solve their problems just like PK did with NAP after Aps incident instead of blame games .
