More than just 'bomb and slaughter'. US invades for $$ or geopolitical reasons. Bomb and slaughter are just side activities. In Syria, for example, the objective is to STEAL Syria's oil and other wealth. If bombing and slaughtering are needed to achieve stealing, then be it. US military will do so in a heart beat. The more bombings, the more money their benefactors including Lookheed and Boeing will make.
